On 2 occasions in October 2023 my 2014 Ford Taurus would not start after cranking. Once the engine had been warm. The 2nd time approximately 2 weeks later, it was cold and had to be towed to Ford dealer. After the dealer said it was the fuel pump driver module needing replacement, it appears this was a known problem (see below from Ford website); however, mine was not recalled. Mine came from the Chicago factory as well. This should be replaced at no charge to me, including the tow fee. Total $602.90 should be reimbursed. The exact situation which is listed on this Ford recall has affected my Taurus. However, this issue is not connected with my VIN even though my window sticker says it was assembled in Chicago. The car would start and then stop, it would not start back up, or it would do a combination. It wasn't the same every time. The dealer I had work on my car replaced the fuel pump driver module and informed me about the recall but I was never able to get in touch with Ford. I have recently been able to connect with Ford and they said it wasn't associated with my VIN and there was nothing they could do or submit to try for reimbursement since it's been over 90 days from when the work was performed.

May 2019

There is a recall on 2014 Ford Taurus' but my VIN does not pop as one that is effective, yet I have all the symptoms. My fuel pump control module, and other various parts of my fuel pump keep failing. Completely lost power in my gas pedal today while on the highway. Couldn't speed up or do anything. Once I came to a stop, the car wouldn't start. It would just crank but no turnover. This fuel pump issue has happened 3 times now, but my car is not listed up the recall list. I feel that this is a safety issue and falls under all the same issues that others are having. Can provide receipts showing the previous repairs.

My vehicle engine stopped running in traffic and would not restart. I had the vehicle towed to my usual service shop. The reason the car stopped and would not restart was diagnosed as a failure of the fuel pump electric module (Ford part GA8Z 9D370 A). My service shop was advised by the Ford parts dealer that there was a recall (# 16V621000) in 2016 for that part. I contacted Ford and was advised that my vehicle VIN was not part of that recall. Do not know why. Certainly, a vehicle that stops running in traffic creates a safety hazard to that vehicle and other vehicle on the road.

This car has left me stranded multiple times. Took to dealership to find out the fuel pump that had been replaced at 90,000 was dead. Catalytic converter replaced at 125,000. Replaced fuel pump control module, fuel pump and sending unit for the 2nd time in 2014 Ford Taurus SEL AWD with 132,000 miles. Now it is sending a check engine code P0461 which is most likely due to the recent replacement messing with PCM values. The 3.5 DOHC engines should be recalled as well for the fuel system issues along with the other models recalled.
