I purchased a 2010 Ford Mustang (VIN: [redacted] ) in April of 2009. This vehicle was equipped with pirelli pzero nero tires that were manufactured in November of 2008. In April 2010, I noticed cracks in the rubber in between the tread ribs on all 4 tires. These tires had ~17K miles on them and were 1 years old. I can provide pictures upon request. I am reporting this problem since I believe that it could potentially be a safety hazard and it occurred during normal tire ownership. Since all 4 tires exhibited this problem, I do not believe that this is an isolated case and there could be other owners that are unknowingly at risk. [redacted]
Near miss - car pulled out in front of me and I instinctively hit the breaks and passenger seat belt locked up and wouldn't release causing passenger discomfort and unable to breath, was unable to release seat belt so had to cut off . This is a 2010 Mustang convertible with less than 50,000 miles . Contacted dealer and said that the seat belt was not covered under warranty! It would be $300 + labor ?? Looked online and it seems that there are a lot of people who have the same problem! Ford needs to recall and fix this problem!
The driver side floor mat/rug on my 2007 Mustang was not locked under the tab on the floor. This has happened on 2 separate occasions. Because the mat slides forward it interferes with the gas/accelerator pedal causing the accelerator pedal to not return and allow de-acceleration/slowing down. I took the Mustang to a local dealer to have the system checked. Their conclusion was the floor mat/rug caused the problem and that it must be locked under the tab to prevent it from sliding forward and interfering with the pedal. I believe this problem is the same as with the recent Toyota problem?? I believe a safety notice to all owners is in order to help prevent this type of potential for a serious vehicular accident.
The rear defrost on my 2007 Mustang gt convertible is dangling from the rear window. It will not work or defrost, causing visibility problems. Had it repaired at dealership and it came loose again, they said I would have to replace the whole top to fix the problem.
The contact owned a 2026 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that while driving 65 MPH with the top down, the touch screen washed out due to the glare from the sun on the screen. The contact pulled over to operate the screen. The screen was not close enough while driving, which caused the driver to remove the hand from the steering wheel. Additionally, the contact used his hands to cover the screen. The contact was nervous while driving the vehicle. The contact felt unsafe driving the vehicle. The contact was driving and drifting towards the right towards incoming traffic but was able to pull over to the left to avoid a crash. The Ford manufacturer was contacted on two occasions. The contact sold the vehicle. The contact stated that the designers might have overlooked the matter. The failure mileage was approximately 600.
The vehicle is driven approximately 500 miles a month, 90% of the time by my wife. On May 24, 2007 my wife drove it to work as usual. When she arrived at work the parking space she usually parks in was occupied. She then proceeded to circle a small island to return to the entrance drive where the parking spaces are. Once one was located she had to make a right turn to access it. While pulling into the parking space and perpendicular to the car stop, about half way into the parking space, the car suddenly accelerated. She hit a tree about 10 - 12 feet away from the parking space. The vehicle is currently at the dealership we purchased it from awaiting body & paint repair.
At 40 MPH the 4 wheel antilock brakes on my 2005 Ford Mustang locked up when I was attempting to stop at a stop light, causing my car to hydroplane into the back of a Dodge pickup. The engine in my car was driven back into the fire wall upon impact; however, my air bag system failed resulting in more serious injuries to me.
I have a 2005 Mustang. It had fuel filling problems since I got it. The pump would click off continuously making it virtually impossible to fill. At times, it would even allow the gasoline to spew out of the vehicle. I took the vehicle to the service department and they already had a bulletin from Ford indicating the problem and that the tank should be replaced. Recently, I have been having the same problem again with the new fuel tank. I don't fill up that often, because I work from home and rarely drive the car. Again, difficult to fill and fuel spewing out of the car onto the side of the vehicle and the ground. I know from reading online that hundreds if not thousands of other mustangs are having the same issues. I took it back to the service department and this time they decided that they were not going to fix it. …
