I was following my wife to the Jeep Dodge cherokee dealership to get her recall taking care of. On the way there at the off ramp of 575 and riverstone parkway I made a right turn to get off on the ramp to exit and I heard a loud thud and the motor accelerated very loud and odd sounding. I was unable to control the vehicle. The only thing I could do to keep from running into anyone was slam on the brakes when I did that the breaks gave a loud screech and was very slow to stop. I ended up hitting 3 cars on the left side none of the airbags deployed nor did any of the seatbelt lock so the only thing I had to stop me from hitting my head against the steering wheel was to put my hands out in front of me on the steering wheel. When the impact happen it was so fierce that my right hand gave out and was snatched of the steering wheel and I damaged my right arm on the steering wheel column. …
As I was driving approximately 65mph/hour I hear a slight popping noise come from the from passenger tire and then followed the tires pressure dash light illuminated. I pulled off the road at my first opportunity. My ture had gone completely flat with out hitting any bumps or pot holes. I put the spare on and returned home. My boyfriend inspected the tire using soapy water and realized the air was escaping from the rim wall (str p245/40 r20) and not the tire itself. Upon further inspection we realized many stress factures on the rim on all four tires not just the one that lost all the air originally. I replaced my tires pirelli all season plus and scorpion verde tires with my stock tires. …
I had a massive tire blowout (outer sidewall) on the highway today, did not hit anything, driving around 65mph, tires are about 2 years old and only run in the summer on a 2007 Ford Mustang, tires have about 10,000 miles on them, car is well maintained all equipment including TPMS working. Tires are achilles atr sport 235/50 r18 101v, tire that blew had dot 5kss va24. I have plenty of pictures as documentation, please let me know course of action. I am located in derry nh, USA. Thank you, [redacted]
I am reporting shimmy in front due to struts. I researched and noticed the struts are being recalled and replaced for this model of Ford Mustang. I would like to have these front struts replaced under the NHTSA recal, along with a passenger rear tire monitor. I can not get the tire monitor light to go off. My cell number is ([redacted]). Also the passenger air bag is not operative parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 U.S.c. 552(b)(6).
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that the factory rims on all four tires caused the tire pressure to decrease. The failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was taken to an independent tire store which stated that there was rust around the rims and the rims needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 43,000.
I had filed a complaint a few weeks ago ( odi# 10192797) about the power steering pump failure on my 2007 Mustang gt which had 270 miles on it. The dealership replaced the pump under the warranty and I had mentioned a problem with the front end also. I returned the car to the dealership and to my dismay, was told that they had to replace my front struts, they explained that this was the cause of my alignment issue. They further explained to me that they think that while my car was being transported via train, that they tied the car down too tightly causing stress on the struts and casters causing the alignment and steering wheel issues. …
I was driving my 2007 Ford Mustang (v6) on the highway (rt 202-pa) when the "low tire pressure" indicator light came on. I pulled off at the first available exit (chesterbrook blvd) and when I turned onto the over pass my rear passenger tire exploded leaving the rim completely exposed. Had the car towed (police came because car was in dangerous spot) and changed the tire. Approx 6 hours later I checked the pressure in all of the tires (was within limits) and set off home on pa turnpike. 2 miles on the turnpike my drivers front wheel went completely flat. Had to have the car towed to my home. All the tires stem valves on my factory installed pirelli p zero nero tires were rotten (all except my rear driver wheel which was replaced due to a separate flat approx 6 moths prior). Per consumer reports website, the tire stem valves were recalled. (08tr414030). …
In early 2007, I experienced the first loss of a tire under mysterious circumstances. I was traveling along at about 60 MPH when I experienced sudden loss of pressure in a tire. This was not preceded by any "audible chime". Perhaps I could not hear same because of traffic noise. Over the next 3 months I went through a similar experience on 2 other tires. I went to the internet and found that other people with similar cars had apparent valve stem failure. By this time I had noticed a valve stem with a crack in it. Went to my Ford dealer and placed a warranty claim with Ford. Was promptly turned down and treated badly by the dealer service mgr., also. I then filed a better business bureau claim and suddenly Ford and the dealer wanted to settle. The settlement was in a satisfactory amount. Whenever a vehicle suffers a sudden tire failure, some risk to the occupants is likely to follow. …
In association with NHTSA action # pe08060, I am just reporting an incident. Even though the investigation is closed there are still defective valve stems out there. Just reporting this for your data. We bought an '07 Mustang last year. It was a one owner with very low miles and had never had the tires or stems replaced in it's lifetime apparently. So we have had to replace three valve stems because of the cracking and leaking, today the 4th one started leaking. Luckily my neighborhood tire shop does not charge very much to replace them if I take the wheel off myself and take it up there, but it would be nice to get back the money for the trouble. But, if it wasn't for Ford's low pressure warning and us being vigilant sticklers for vehicle maintenance, this could have been a problem. …
Low tire pressure sensor comes on after a couple of weeks of airing up tires I took to Ford who said tires where overinflated so the set it back to the correct air pressure only to get the light back on in a week . This is a serious problem because tires can be over inflated which could cause the tire to explode or cause extremely quick tire wear.{either by over inflating or the low tire pressure} these tires are over inflated only to keep the tire pressure light from coming back on. I also brought up to Ford service dept. About the valve stem issue I read , but the looked at me like I was crazy . Nobody there heard of that . I am just 1 person but I have a small child and don't want this issue to cause a serious accident thank you
