Summary: My 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E GT has repeatedly experienced a complete and unexpected loss of propulsion while driving in active traffic. Each time, the vehicle displayed a red "Stop Safely Now" warning with additional critical alerts, followed by an immediate loss of forward motion with no prior indication. This left the vehicle stalled in traffic and created a significant safety hazard. Details of Each Incident: While driving under normal conditions or coming to a stop, the vehicle triggered the red "Stop Safely Now" alert with powertrain and brake warnings. Propulsion shut down instantly and the vehicle locked in Park, leaving it immobilized in traffic lane. I had to exit the vehicle and wait for it to complete a full power-down cycle before it would restart. After restarting, the vehicle operated with reduced functionality and limited range. …
I was driving normally at about 45 mph with no strong acceleration, after about 20 minutes of driving... Then Cross Traffic Alert, Crash Alert, ABS Failure Alert, Parking Brake Fault Alert, and probably more alerts suddenly went off while driving. Warning Lights for all these features stayed on, and I completely lost regenerative braking and power braking. I'm not sure if I lost anything else because I immediately pulled over, having to stand on the brakes to slowly stop. Once at a stop, I put it in park and warnings about parking brake faults continued to go off. I turned off the car, and warning about a parking brake fault continued to go off. I waited a few seconds and then opened the door to force the normal system shutdown. I pressed the brake and hit the start button again, but it didn't seem to recognize that I had pressed the brake and started in accessory (ACC) mode. …
On 5/14/2025 at aprox 5:35pm I was completely stopped in traffic when all of a sudden my car started to accelerate without me pressing on the accelerator. I pressed the brake pedal, however the car continued to move forward, by this time the brake pedal was pressed to the floor and the car was continuing to more forward. I was stopped aprox 6 feet behind a semi truck, and ended up crashing into the back of the semi. The car continued to surge forward, even though my car was pressed against the back of the semi. It was at that time when I put the car in Neutral. When traffic started to move, I followed the truck, but apparently he did not realize I had hit him. I was able to drive home. There was significant damage to the front of my car. Normally I would get an alert if I am too close to the car in front of me to prevent an accident, the alert never came on. The airbags did not deploy. …
On January 15 I took my car to Tasca Ford for the "10,000 check up and NYS Inspection. I was given paperwork confirming that the car was functioning properly . On January 17, 2026 my parked, unoccupied 2024 Ford mach E crashed into my parents garage door. I brought the car back to Tasca on January 19 and again was told nothing was wrong with my brakes. I then took the car to an independent mechanic who confirmed the brakes were faulty. I also received a notice in the Ford App that there was a recall for my car. I called Ford to tell them about my accident and that I needed a loaner car. They first denied the recall then told they had "No remedy" at this time I had to contact the dealership. Tasca was still denying a recall and would not give me a loaner. On February 13, 2026 the car rolled out of park and hit an unoccupied car. I now have a rental car through Geico but only for 30 days.
While driving the 2023 Ford MachE in 1 Peddle mode Friday 12 July 2024. I had to suddenly brake due to a car cutting of the car in front of me to make an illegal turn. I applied the brakes (HARD) and my car came to a complete stop. Just as I was breathing a sigh of relief, and waiting for the still parked car in front of me to move. On I released my foot of the brake (the car should have held in place). However, warning lights sensors started beeping going crazy as the car lunged forward. It caused me to hit the car in front of me. The lunge was so forceful that for a moment I thought another car had rear-ended me and pushed me into the stopped car in front of me. I did not have time to see all of the alerts flashing on the dash as they were flashing as the car was propelled forward. The other car did not sustain any damage. However my car car did. …
I was backing out of a parking spot in a strip mall, when I changed the gear to Drive, and moved forward by a foot. I felt a bump, as I appeared to have hit some obstruction on the left underside of the vehicle (likely a low curb/island). After that, I lost control of the vehicle - the car accelerated very hard, and I tried to stop the car, but it was not responding to my brake input. I crashed into a stationary vehicle, which deflected my car to a storefront wall. The total distance travelled from when the sudden acceleration started to the crash against the wall, was probably 20 - 30 feet (and not in a straight line). But the impact was severe enough to have deployed the air bags and the car is considered totalled. …
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Mustang Mach E. The contact stated that while driving approximately 20 MPH and pressing the brake pedal to stop, the vehicle suddenly accelerated forward and crashed into the rear of a second vehicle. Before the crash, the pre-collision warning had activated, but the vehicle did not stop. The front end of the had sustained severe damage but no bags deployed. No injuries were reported. A police report was taken at the scene, and the vehicle was later towed to a nearby collision facility. The cause of the failures has not yet been determined. The manufacturer and local dealer have not yet been contacted. The failure mileage was 19,100.
On Tuesday, [redacted], between approximately [redacted] and [redacted] PM EST, I parked my Mustang Mach-E, powered the vehicle off, and exited the car with my wife and child. After unloading groceries and sports equipment, I retrieved the Level 2 charger from the front of my garage and plugged it into the vehicle. I waited for the blue indicator lights to turn solid and blink, confirming charging had started, which typically takes about one minute. I believe the vehicle had been parked and powered off for approximately 10 minutes when I entered the house. Shortly thereafter, I heard an unusual clicking noise and observed the charging cable strike the side of the garage door opening. …
