I was driving in the northbound left hand lane on creasy lane in Lafayette, Indiana, approaching Rome Drive. A driver from a side street took an illegal left hand turn to head towards the northbound lanes of creasy lane, I was traveling over 30 mph, maybe 40 at the time of the collision. I was unable to see the other driver until it was too late as they passed by drivers turning from the right hand lane onto the side road they had been at. My airbags did not deploy during the collision, nor did my pre collision assist alert nor did my brake system engage. I suffered extensive front end damage at the time of the incident. There was a previous recall for my airbags in this vehicle, as well as notifications in 2024 that my collision systems had been disengage during warranty work.
The contact owns a 2021 Ford Bronco. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle jerked and lost motive power. No warning light was illuminated. Additionally, the vehicle experienced unintended acceleration while driving. The lane departure feature also steered the vehicle in the opposite direction while there was construction on the road. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000. The VIN was not available.
I was pulling into a residential driveway and as soon as the front tires entered the driveway the pre-collision alert warning went off and when I applied the brakes they did nothing. I proceeded to roll 25+ feet and crashed into the back of a parked car in the driveway. There were people standing just to the right of the parked car I hit. The Ford dealer has had the vehicle for over 4 weeks now and all they've said is certain modules aren't communicating properly.
The contact owns a 2021 Ford Bronco. The contact stated that while in reverse on several occasions, the back-over prevention camera failed to work as intended. The contact stated that on one occasion while in drive, the back-over prevention camera was displayed inadvertently. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 6,000. The VIN was not available.
rear view camera display when vehicle is in reverse will intermittently turn blue or black which renders the rear view camera useless. and at times will state camera unavailable. vehicle is a 2021 ford bronco built on june 15, 2021 at ford Michigan build plant. i have contacted ford related to this concern as i believe that the vehicle should fall under recall 23s48 for rear camera replacement, and 25s49 for module updates related to rear camera display. the vehicle year, build date, assembly plant and symptoms all fit within the parameters of recall. note that i also have a 2022 bronco that these recalls are active on for the same concerns, the concern happens 7-8 times a week for the last 4-5 months. …
Our family was traveling from Lake George New York to Boston MA on Wednesday [redacted]. As we passed another vehicle in the far left lane on [redacted] the vehicle bounced and we lost control of the backend of the vehicle and it "fish tailed" across the highway nearly causing a collision at 65 miles per hour. The anti-lock breaks were activated and we nearly collided with several cars but managed to pull into the emergency lane. The vehicle was not drivable after this incident because any pothole or bump on the highway, at speeds over 50 MPH, made the rear of the vehicle very unstable. It will skid and sway. Our vehicle is now undrivable and Ford says the only available solution is a "buy back" program and a solution will not be available until Q3 of 2025. This leaves us with a 4 year old vehicle with only 24k miles undrivable. This is not acceptable.
The contact owns a 2021 Ford Bronco. The contact had received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 24V635000 (Engine and Engine Cooling), 25V025000 (Suspension), 25V315000 (Back Over Prevention) and 25V455000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the parts to do the recall repairs were not yet available. The local dealer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts for all four recalls were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that the rear camera intermittently displayed a distorted image while the vehicle was in reverse. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was unknown. VIN tool confirms parts not available for NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 25V025000, 25V315000, and 25V455000. Parts distribution disconnect for NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V635000.
I received an alert on the dash stating there was an issue with the blind spot monitoring/rear cross traffic system. It was erroring off and on for that entire drive. When I got home, I googled the issue and it appears it's a known issue with '21 and some early '22 broncos where they factory installed the blind spot module wiring harness too close to the rear bumper. Over time, the wires rub and eventually rub bare and corrode or short out. I went out to take a look and sure enough, I had rubbed through on the driver side (photo) and the passenger side was nearly rubbed through. I have an extended warranty and it's at the dealership today. This is a manufacturing defect and should be covered (even if out of warranty) in my opinion. We will see what kind of story the dealer can come up with to wiggle out of it being covered under warranty.
In late March 2023, the touchscreen on my Bronco went dead, along with the USB ports in the console below. With the dead screen, I have no back up camera, which is a huge safety concern. Also, all other features managed by the touch screen are gone (no radio, no navigation, no hands free phone usage, etc.). I have been to the dealer twice, and they said we just have to wait for Ford engineers to send a patch to the SYNC system, because they think it has interfered with the APIM module. This may or may not be related to the open recall 22c27, because that is not the same issue as mine. But Ford just is telling me to wait for that recall to be completed, but for four months and counting they have not provided a patch for the 8-inch screen model that I have. I have been given no other options except potential buy back of the vehicle.
Sync 4 system has a critical issue that Ford has not fixed and is a known issue in many sync 4 systems. This causes the system to reboot at random times and reload. This includes being black and not working for many minutes so the rear camera and cross traffic do not function at all. This is a safety issue as with most SUVs the rear is a huge blind spot. Ford has not been able to update my system with a recall issued for safety concerning a different issue and the rear view camera. Ford will not replace the unit until they have sent out an update that is unknown release date. I have spoke to Ford reps and two dealerships and all refuse to fix the radio to allow for normal function.
