Driving my 2012 dodge ram 3500, just as I was crossing one of the busiest intersections in my town my truck lost all power and dropped from 35mph to 5 mph. Barley made it acrossed and pulled over. As soon as I pulled over the engine light comes on, checked code, and U010C lost coms with turbo actuator comes up. Turned truck off and rest code and everything back to normal. About a week later it happened again, luckily not as busy of a spot. Called dealer and soonest appointment was in April. Meanwhile I look up code and see hundreds of post for same issue, bad actuator replace. 28 years as a diesel mechanic for the military, so I found the part online and ordered. Replaced the actuator, drove about 50 miles, light comes back on. Finally get my appointment with dealer and they say my turbo is bad, they want $8k to fix. …
This truck has had to have several high temp burnoffs because of failures in the EGR and Carbon build up. The recent recall for Rams does not cover the 2012, and began at 2013, however, we are experiencing the same exact issues with the same type of system. In addition, we have had repeated airbag issues due to the positioning of the cockspring and wiring getting choked out.
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 Ram 3500. While driving approximately 70 MPH and towing a 2017 wood deck trailer fmcw-11000-20s, the contact heard a banging noise underneath the floorboard. Suddenly, the front drive shaft and transfer case separated and blew up. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact pulled over to inspect the vehicle and was informed that his hubcap fell off. While attempting to shift the gear into drive, the gear shifter failed. Upon further inspection of the vehicle, the contact noticed that fluid leaked onto the ground from underneath the vehicle and that the transfer case and drive shaft were gone. …

I was towing a 5th wheel and the check eng. Light come on and the truck stalled whent from 60mph. To 30 MPH. I stoped for the night in the morning I got it to holiday Dodge in austin mn. And was told the a code of p0087 was on and it was a low fuel rail perssure. But the part need was on back order and no Dodge shope had one it would take 4 to 6 weeks to get one. After this repair was done it has been into Dodge 8 time for the same thing and has cost me a lot. But I stell don't have a sefe truck. Its not safe do to the truck runing at 60mph then droping to 30mph or not runing at all. Towing a trailer and the eng. Stops on the interstate trying to get the truck and trailer off the highway with no power is not safe.
In December, I received the p65 fuel heater electrical connector recall which warns of a fuel leak and risk of fire. It is now February and parts are still not available to fix this and avoid the fire risk. If Chrysler can come up with the parts to supply their production lines, why can't Chrysler come up with the parts for the recall? Based on this recall and other Chrysler recalls, the delays procuring recall parts while supplying production line parts appears to be a deliberate strategy by Chrysler to delay or avoid the expense of implementing recalls.
Recalls: p65 diesel fuel heater, potential fuel leak and fire. Ram does not have parts to fix, refuses loaner vehicle until parts are avaliable. Vehicle not safe to drive n49 left tie rod, requested appointment to have repaired appointment never made by dealer. Emmission control problems related to o2 sensors and wiring, paid $387 to have repairs made, not repaired and not under warranty according to Ram. Engine stops running requires code clearing thru obd2 system to get running out of "limp" mode. Dealers aware of issues, multiple TSB, but no fix works.
Truck shuts off at random at various speeds and after coasting will start itself up again. Throws every light on the dash on including trailer brake malfunction but throws no ECM codes. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the key fob/starter relay recognizing the key.
