The vehicle was not repaired and remained with the independent mechanic. I took my vehicle into the dealership. Almost three weeks ago for a recall on the front end, a steering component. However, they told us that the parts were back ordered several days after the vehicle had been there for three weeks. And then all of a sudden, they call and a week and a 1 after that. And send a vehicle is done. I picked up the vehicle yesterday and it is not fixed. The problem still exists. We just about crashed on the freeway coming home when it started to do the death wobble shake that dodge ram is known for we nearly wrecked the truck on the freeway. It is not safe to drive. And the problem is not fixed. We have had nothing but problems with this dealership. In the past, and I believe they said they performed the recall safety issue. However, the truck was never fixed. We have pictures and proof
The truck is currently at a service station as it developed a "death wobble" while driving down the freeway a shimmed so hard I couldn't control it but managed to get it to the side of the road and finally to a stop. I did not receive any type of warning. I am being told by the mechanic at the service station it is going to require a rebuild of the front suspension. After checking to see if this has been a recall issue, I found there had been 3 but I did not receive notification of this particular recall. Not sure if the age of the truck prevents me from going back to have Dodge resolve this issue. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
While driving at highway speed in my 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 truck, the truck's front wheels began to violently shake and wobble with incredible vibration and bumpy ride. I thought I would lose control of the vehicle. I slowed, turned on my emergency flashers and hit the brakes pulling off the interstate. After a few minutes I continued on only to have the same incident described happen again a few miles later. I contacted the local Chrysler dealership and made an appointment, detailing the incident. I was told my truck was not covered by a safety campaign.
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving at a low speed, the steering wheel became difficult to maneuver. As a result, the contact crashed into the rear driver's side of another vehicle and the air bags failed to deploy. The contact did not sustain any injuries that required medical attention. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. On another occasion, the contact stated that while attempting to make a right turn at a low speed, the steering wheel became difficult to maneuver and the contact crashed into the driver's side of another vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact did not sustain any injuries that required medical attention. The contact was unsure if a police report was filed. …
Multiple repairs to the front end suspension of the vehicle, to the point that we are now paying for the repairs and the dealership denying they replaced the most recent track bar on the truck and blame the tires on the truck. I am really tired of running off into a ditch after hitting a bump in the road or steer to miss a pothole. Just fix the truck correctly and stop making excuses telling us it is our tires when it is a 4x4 and they cannot put more sturdy parts on the front end or take blame for the steering shaft and gear box when these have been recalled under the death wobble. Hub assembly had to be replaced on this truck as well. Trying to turn the vehicle into a parking spot and constantly having to back into a space. This death wobble has gone too far. As far as the electrical they cannot find why the dashboard keeps flickering and we keep blowing fuses or bulbs. …
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500. While driving approximately 65 MPH, the vehicle shook violently, veered to the right, and the steering wheel seized without warning. As a result, the contact crashed into a road sign. The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed and there were no injuries reported. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence and then towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the front driver side tie rod assembly fractured and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure and the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 13V528000 (steering). The failure mileage was 72,000.
Steering has horrible vibration and wobble at 19 MPH. Seems to be getting worse. Have already replaced two steering gear boxes on 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel. Still not fixed. With recent news on Dodge rams; I am surprised they have not looked at this model years as well as many model years are having same issue. Beginning to be nervous driving the vehicle and the history of this issue with other models and really afraid the shaking is so serious it will eventually cause a wreck or loss of life. This is the 3rd report from me already. Also taken it to Dodge service center and they just peered under the truck and said everything was good. Didn't even attempt to test drive and see for themselves. I have even attempted to notify Dodge corporate last year when it started and not even a return call or message. Feel trapped and lost. Please look at these model years as well. …
After being inspected at dealership for prior tie rod and steering link recalls, my Ram 2500 at about the 125K mileage point began to experience the now well documented "Dodge death rattlle", where at highway speeds the front end would violently shimmy. Soon thereafter my tie rod did fracture, causing me to lose steering ability on a 40mph roadway, where I narrowly avoided a serious accident. I had it repaired at my local shop and it went another 10K before the Dodge death rattle reappeared again, and despite numerous checks on alignment, shocks, front end, there did not seem to be an answer. There always remained a shimmy on bumps on the highway, and I only drove this truck on local roads thereafter. Tonight backing out of my driveway, the steering link assembly just fractured and I again lost steering ability completely. …
2006 Dodge Ram 2500 4 x 4 mega cab death wobble. I've had the front end of my truck shake at speeds over 45 MPH and turning left on any surface that has bumps. When you hit a bump the front of the truck shakes, the dash begins to shake and the truck feels like its going to fall apart. After slowing down to less than 15mph you May be lucky to get control. After the sixth time it happeded to me, I was driving on a highway going 55mph, making a left turn over an expansion joint in the highway, the front wheels, steering wheel and dash started to shake violently. My truck slammed of the side rail before I could get control. After calling Dodge they told me I'm stuck buying a 2009 tie rod assembly, pitman arm, steering stablizer because they no longer made it for Dodge Ram 2500 4 x 4 trucks 2003 ' 2008 due to safty reason. …
