The vehicle stalled during normal use traveling about 35 miles an hour right after an intersection. MY husband was able to safely make it off the road as we live in a small town he did this by feathering the accelerator pedal. He is a mechanic so he was able to get it home by lightly tapping the pedal. If he pressed the pedal too hard the car stalled without warning so he lightly tapped on it and made it 2 blocks to our home where it has set in the driveway ever since. We spent over $1000 replacing parts such as the throttle body and the fuel pump and sending unit, egr, pcv, crankshaft sensor, plugs, injectors, intake seals, air intake temperature sensor and throttle body which include the throttle position sensor. Before we went for the cam sensor I decided to look up the issue and found so many with the same problem as us. …

When vehicle has been filled up with gas it will intermittently die until it has around 50 miles on it. Usually sputters and dies without warning leaving you with no steering or brakes. Will restart but die until some fuel is ran out. I have scheduled to have the gas tank replaced but the fee is around $150

Tl contact owns a 2005 Dodge Magnum. While driving approximately 30 MPH, the steering wheel loosened and the interior lighting became very dim. On occasion, the contact smelled a burning odor inside the passenger compartment. There were no warning indicators prior to the failures because the warning light indicators have never worked since the vehicle was purchased. The vehicle would start roughly from time to time. When the contact depressed the brake pedal, the contact heard a loud noise underneath the vehicle. In addition, the vehicle shutters when proceeding to turn, the air conditioning unit is not working properly, and the transmission hesitates intermittently. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and they stated that the steering failure was related to the front suspension. The mechanic replaced two control arms and tie rods. …

They said it was the throttle body, they replaced it and I paid $168, the next morning I go to get in my car and the light comes back on and same problem happens they now say they must of gotten a faulty throttle body, changed it out again, next morning same thing happens, now they replace the main computer take it to Dodge get the computer reprogrammed and I pay $267.00, guess what next day it does it again. I have had an ongoing problem with my 2005 Dodge Magnum rt 5.7l 58,000 mi on it. After filling up the gas tank , the vehicle will shut down during driving many times before finally going again. All power including the power steering goes. I didn't relate the problem at first with fueling , this has been happening for a few years. I took it to the Dodge dealer a few years ago , and had the PCM , and other parts replaced , stalled on the way home. Nothing has worked so far. This seems to be an ongoing problem with these vehicles . I don't even trust it to drive on the highway , and I don't like even putting my grandchildren in the car , because you never know, it could stall anywhere, I planned on keeping this car for a long time I still have very low miles on it., and now I fear it. Dodge needs to do something about this. …

Vehicle Dodge Magnum r/t 5.7l 2005 engine stalls unexpectedly when moving slow speed/low RPM, loses power steering and brakes. Does happen occasionally May go months without an incident. Vehicle start normally right after. Extremely dangerous especially when making left turn over oncoming traffic lanes and crossing lanes. Had two incidents yesterday as described. This issue need to be investigated and recalled for complete repair. Called Chrysler customer service who were unwilling to assist with an issue but admit warranty extension to the fuel tank's multifunction control valve fuel shutoff float in the 19-gallon tanks. I found NHTSA comment in its summary of the closed investigation. …

While driving down the highway or sitting in park, the bas light on the dash will come on, when it does this the engine goes to 800 RPM idle and the transmission goes into neutral, rendering of the vehicle in capable of driving until the vehicle comes to a complete stop, is placed in park, ignition shut off and restarted. Then you can operate the vehicle again until the next time it does this, which May be one minute or a week. This is extremely dangerous as it is happening to me going down the highway a couple of times, at which time I have to pull over to the shoulder shut the vehicle off restart the vehicle and then try to pull away. Twice I've almost been hit by semi tractor-trailers as the vehicle is coasting with no power. Please help me, I am in fear for my life if I drive this vehicle.

I have a 2005 Dodge Magnum and I went into the cleaners to drop my clothes off. I went in the cleaners and came out and attempted to start my car and it wouldn't start. I thought it was the fuel pump. I had my car towed to the shop and the mechanic stated it was my engine was out. I think its the timing chain. I seen recalls for my engine but they state its for the newer version of the Hemi but I think its all the same recall. I get my car maintenance at the Dodge dealership and I haven't had any engine problems, no check engine lights , loss af power. There were literally no signs. I had got my oil changed at the dealership within a month of the incident.

Car has 137,000 miles car was running good , all maintenance done, parked car , shut it off , in about 10 seconds started back up again , and it sounded like someone was banging on the inside of my hood , started back firing then it went dead would never start again , manfredi Dodge in staten island told me I dropped a valve seat , after 5 yrs I hear more and more about the same thing , and Dodge doesn't want to do anything ,because the cars are out of warrantee , it usually happens after 100,000 miles , so yes car is out of warrantee , but buying the car brand new and spending almost $36,000 I should have gotten more then 137,000 miles out of that car
