My 2006 Dakota filler tube spits the gas back out onto the pavement when trying to refuel. It takes a very long time to refuel and I understand many chrsyler products are having the same issue. There is a recall on 2005 durango c or the same problem. Why is there no recall for the dakotas?

Can not put fuel in the tank no matter how much fuel is in it. Pump kicks off after about 25-35 cents of fuel is dispensed. Fuel occasionally sprays out of the filler neck. Chrysler dealership claims fuel tank needs replaced at approximately $1500 my cost.

Mine is the 2005 Dodge Dakota extra cab and the exhaust manifold bolts breaking/shearing at the engine block. This can cause (and it has) a ticking sound that gets louder as you accelerate. Once you hear the ticking sound, both sides of the engine are affected. This results in poor mileage, overheating, engine will stall at low idle, ultimately allowing exhaust fumes to enter the cabin, potentiallu, poisoning the occupants with carbon monoxide fumes. I took this vehicle to the dealer to have then replaced. The 1st dealer said it wasn't repairable. 2nd one said, 1400 $ per side to extract broken bolts at the rear of the exhaust manifold on both sides of my 4.7 . 3rd repair shop told me this very common on the 4.7 and he does about 10 a week. His price was 350 $ per size plus gasket and doughnut gasket at the collector. Hey! …

Takata air bag. I purchased a 2005 Dodge Dakota in August 2018. I took it to the dealership in October when I found out about the recall. Dealership replaced drivers side but not passenger side.I was told and shown photos of an empty space.there was no airbag or wiring.I still have no psa. Also when I test drove this vehicle it had no headlights.when I purchased it I was told they were fixed.I do not have high beams still. There are also problems with the emissions on this truck.I replaced the EVAP pump but still is not correct. Can someone please tell me what I can do about these safety issues? Thank you.

Loud thunking noise comes from the transmission when attempting to stop. Rep from Chrysler stated this was coming from the gas tank . There is a vibration between 30-45 MPH coming from the drive train. Rep stated this was "normal".there is also a loud whirring noise coming from the fuel pump. Rep also states this is normal.bearing nosie is coming from the power steering pump. My 2004 Dodge Dakota sxt has been to the dealer 5 times and the dealer still cannot fix. The rep from Chrysler stated this is the "best" truck Dodge has ever built. I'd hate to see the worst! So far the dealer has replaced the ac condenser, complete rack & pinion steering system, complete drive shaft, rear differential housing, rear swaybar links, the brakes shudder when attempting to stop , left front brake squeal, front end needed aligning after rack & pinion steering replacement . …

When braking for a stop, with the gas tank between half and full, there is a loud "thumping" noise a few seconds after begin stopped. The original gas tank has been replaced but the noise still exists. Per the dealer, 2005 and later models this problem has been corrected. Why can this not be corrected on the 2004 models? The consumer stated it is to his understanding that this is an ongoing problem with the gas tank on 2004 Dodge Dakota's. The consumer is questioning why the later models were corrected and not the model he possess which has the same defect? The dealer stated knocking noise on floor the vehicle was placed on a lift and the axle nuts were re-torqued. Water leaked over the accelerator pedal, and the hole was sealed. The dealer stated clicking noise came from the rear when coming to a stop. Updated 09/05/07 updated 09/06/07.

1. While sitting in park on a automatic transmission. In a still position rolled front or back more than a couple inches. Had to step on brake while in park and had to block wheels when engine was off to keep from rolling. Emergency brake does not hold or work properly either. 2. The heater has only high position working now. The dash gets to hot to even keep heat on very long. Fuel cap with key. When getting fuel truck has to be turned off before pumping otherwise engine light comes on the dash and needs to be reset or driven miles before engine lightor goes back off.3. The upper ball joints had to replace twice now. Breaks had to replace twice also due to suspension being out of whack and problem above. Now there is noise in front driver side wheel area. 4. Put all new break lines on it because they kept blowing out. …

Fuel tank hanger brackets rusted into and gas take fell out causing a hole to be rubbed through the bottom of the tank. Twelve gallons of fuel was lost. Luckily there was no fire or explosion. I was only going 35 MPH and stopped as soon as I heard dragging. I was traveling on a city street at the time. I filed a complaint with Dodge, file number 31424705.
