What owners report
Headlights have been an issue with this vehicle. Example: low beam goes out ( thought to be normal conditions). Replaced properly and worked for a while, but not long after harness melts. Harness is then repaired and works for a while again before developing issues high beams. Harness repair does not solve the problem. TIPM May be faulty in design and causing issues with what will work in the case of headlights which is a safety concern.
When the car is I'm motion or standing the vehicles engine begins to race the engine light as well as charging light comes on and the cars speed drops below 25mph and if headlamps if being used the flicker off and on . The oil was recently change but the change oil light comes on repeatedly.. Headlamps that were replaced blew in 2 months . The car repeatedly need to be jumped eventhough nothing was left running or on in the vehicle..
Driver's side headlight stopped working and the bulb is still good. Called the dealership and apparently this is a common problem they know that they r trying to charge 1200 dollors to fix. They should have to fix the headlights because it's the manufacturers fault that they don't work correctly. Can't drive this car anymore cause you can't see to drive at night. Because the headlights don't work and it's not because of the bulbs. It's the manufacturers installation that was done wrong..
My headlight went out on my car, I got a replacement bulb, put it in and nothing. I got another bulb thinking maybe it's a malfunctioning bulb. Still didn't work, tested the light socket and no power to it, looked up on google for headlight malfunctioning on 2010 Dodge calibers and there are multiple complaints and videos regarding this issue going back to 2007 Dodge calibers. This is an electrical problem and Dodge is aware of this issue but states its not a "safety issue" however you can get a ticket for a headlight being out and your car will not pass inspection without a headlight. So how can this not be a safety issue? This needs to be a recall on this vehicle, just for the diagnostic of this issue will cost me $114/hour to have the shop diagnose the electrical problem, not fix it, just tell me what it is and then labor and parts to fix it. …
When I turn on my signals to make a turn, one of my headlights goes out. Sometimes at night it's difficult to see where I'm turning into. Also sometimes when I turn my car on and turn on my headlights, they won't turn on. But when I put my in reverse and drive, they turn on. I got stopped Friday night because the police officer said my headlights were out and when I tested them out they wouldn't turn on while I was sitting still. I took them to Goodyear the next day and told what was wrong. They checked them out and said that nothing was wrong and everything was working right. Hazardous night time driving.
I notice a few after my car inspection, water was in my driver tail light housing. Housing was drained. After about 2 month my daughter ask what that dark looking stuff was in my driver tail light housing was. Of course it was water again, and the lights stop working. Please fix this problem soon. Thanks
While driving a 2008 Dodge Caliber se in a street between 40mph and 45 MPH, the vehicle suddenly shutdown itself. Five second later and after pulling over as close as I could to the curve of the road, the car died. I tried to restart the engine to move it out of the way of the traffic, but the vehicle did not start. Smoke started coming out under the hood, and after further examination, I saw sparks and smoke coming out off the fuses' box. I disconnected the battery and waited for the smoke to clear up. Using a flash light, I found out that one of the circuit card in the totally integrated power module (TIPM) shorted and melted part of the plastic cover. The vehicle couldn't be put in neutral, and the break pedal and steering wheel were inoperative. …
The right front passenger fog/blinker goes is not always functional. When the front right fog/blinker is not working the back blinks fast to indicate a bulb out. The bulbs have been replaced the wiring has been checked from the TIPM box all the way to the light. I have gone over 2 months without my car to see what's wrong but no one can figure it out and there are no codes that generate. The TIPM box is working in perfect order and that is not the cause. I have taken it to 4 different mechanics and no one can find anything as to why the front passenger fog/blinker is the only thing affected and why it is not consistent. It also effects from my right front passenger hazard light it will work if the fob/blinker is working that day. And the hazard will not work if the other ones are not functional that day. …
