NHTSA defect investigations
Federal safety investigators have looked into a possible defect involving the 2007 Chrysler Crossfire:
Desiccated Air Bag Inflator Rupture
From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited.

On May 18, 2020 as I was driving at about 25 MPH, I heard a scraping noise coming from the rear glass area. I pulled over to determine what was the problem. I then noticed the rear glass window had fallen into the car, held intact by the rear defroster cord catching it and loosely dangling in the breeze. I informed Chrysler of this problem (Chrysler customer hotline [phone], case number 76293394), but they offered no assistance, even though I have researched this issue and have found many complaints through google and your own website, NHTSA.gov. If I had been driving at an interstate speed of 65 MPH, the glass could have entered the vehicle and killed me! I have also learned that Chrysler gave a 10 year/100,000 mile warranty to owners of 2005 crossfires with the same issue! …

Rear glass of softop has come loose from material. This is a dangerous issue since the car able to be driven safely. 2005 cars of same make and model has had an extended warrantee provide to it, with many owners receiving full replacement of soft top at no cost to them. This happended while the car was stationary, sitting in my garage, in jacksonville fl. I am the original owner of this car and this car was delivered in what 'Chrysler' has deeemed to be 'hot weather states' (fl) from their 2005 replacements of the same exact issue.
