I've had my engine checked back in May of 05 by the dealer they said it was engine misfire, the distributor ignition was bad. They charged me $321 just to check it,then I paid $276 to get it fixed. The car has had a drip ever since. In the past 6 to 8 months or longer I've had a drip from the engine that can't be fixed , I recently had my car worked on it was in the shop for a month it cost me $2500 to repair and it still has a leak. It's back there again because it needs that expansion plug and retaining bracket that only the dealer can provide according to every site but the place the car comes from. I'm also having transmission problems which I've had since I brought the vehicle. Because I need a shift mechanism and cable from the dealer according to every site but where the car comes from. …

Tl contact owns a 1995 Chrysler Cirrus. Several months ago, while driving 20 MPH, the driver's side front suspension began making a creaking noise. The noise did not sound like the springs, but more like plastic rubbing over a heavy load. The contact took the vehicle to a mechanic and was informed that both the passenger and driver's side front suspension were out of lubricant. In addition, the suspension joints needed to be replaced. After researching the issue, the contact discovered NHTSA campaign id number 97V201000 (suspension:front:control arm:lower ball joint) for the same failure his vehicle was experiencing. The manufacturer stated that the recall did apply to his vehicle; the manufacturer was taking responsibility for the repairs. The failure mileage was 75,500 and current mileage was 76,200. My car was inspected for a recall issue almost two years ago. I bought the car only 7 months ago. Recently, it broke down because of the recall issue and the manufacturer will not cover the costs for repair because they say that the recall had been completed when actually the car was only inspected (no parts replaced). What if a short time after it was inspected, the problem started to occur? I was not aware of this recall when I purchased the car and I think that the manufacturer should cover the costs. I think I am being cheated out of money and for the safety of my car. Don't manufacturers want to keep their customers satisfied and make sure that their cars are safe?

I have had numerous problems with this new vehicle. The most serious of which happened this week. I had problems with the ball joints. After several trips, I finally got the dealership to replace the right one. They said the left one was find, although that was where the noise was from. They told me it was my power steering rack. Five days after the right ball joint was replaced, the left ball joint broke as my 17 year old daughter was driving the car and the tire fell off. Luckily she had gotten off the 4-lane highway she had been traveling on that night.

While driving on highway heard a rubbing noise. Pulled over, and two rear tires were turned in. Contacted dealer, and was told that upper control arm broke because they were not properly lubricated. Was also told that this vehicle was not designed where consumer could reach to lubricate. In addition, vehicle was making noise when putting it in reverse, and was not able to steer car because power steering pump seal went out and fluid leaked onto the ground.

Warranty recall out, but we were not notified of a problem, and we feel that this is a safety issue, and if Chrysler is aware of the problem, they have a responsibility to their customers to notify and fix the problem. Also, Chrysler is not willing to replace the arm on the other side until it fails. What if it fails while we are driving at 60 MPH with our baby in the back of our car? I would like to think that I can trust Chrysler with my family's safety.
