What owners report
The contact owns a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH, the contact heard an abnormal sound. The vehicle then started shaking uncontrollably. The contact was able to pull over to the right shoulder. The passenger's side rear tire had separated from the rim. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.
I own a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse. At the time of the incident, I was driving at 55 mph and heard a very loud and unusual sound. The vehicle then began to uncontrollably shake so I pulled over to the right shoulder. A truck driver pulled over with me as he thought it was something in his truck that had malfunctioned due to the intensity of the sound that it produced. At the rear right wheel of my vehicle, the metal rim was broken vertically causing the rim to separate into two parts. The tire is completely intact. Thank god, the outermost part of the rim that holds the nuts did not break and stayed completely whole and solid letting me pull off to the right shoulder. To put it into perspective, the wheel was left in three different parts. The first part was the tire. The second part was the cylindrical shaped metal rim that stayed inside the tire. …
My 2019 Chevy Traverse was purchased new in August of 2018. It has approx 34,500 miles on it as of 7/26/21. Tire size: 255/55 R 20 107H. The vehicle has been in for regular maintenance/service at the original dealership since it was purchased. Around March 2021, I noticed the outside tread on all 4 tires becoming brittle and breaking off. There are small chunks of the tread missing and some type of thread showing where the chunks have come off. I went to my local Costco and the associate in the tire department told me that I should not be driving on it because the tires could blow. I wanted a second opinion and went to my local Discount Tire. The associate told me that what was happening was called "chunking" and it was not common (actually rare to happen) and I should call Continental Tire. No alarms/warning lamps have gone off due to this issue.
The tire pressure monitoring system shows incorrect information. It is of by 3 - 5 psi when compared to a tire pressure gauge the is tested & calibrated accurate to 2% at our JACO NIST and ANSI certified calibration lab. Not knowing the correct tire air pressure risks a blowout while traveling. The component will be inspected within 5 days at a Chevrolet dealership service center. The failure causes alerts on the Driver Information Center to the incorrect tire pressure. The error first appeared around June 2020 while checking the tire pressure with my gauge.
The contact owns a 2018 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while in park, there was an alarm beeping. The message "Shift to Park" was displayed. Additionally, the TPMS warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to duplicate the failure. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 121,000.
My 2018 Chevrolet Traverse, has unresolved safety defects that endanger occupants and other road users. These include transmission failure with loss of acceleration, "Shift to Park" malfunctions preventing engine shut off, inoperative blind spot/cross traffic sensors, faulty tire pressure monitoring, and an active oil leak from the timing gasket cover. These issues occur unpredictably during normal driving and parking, creating an immediate risk of collision, roll away, or engine fire. All of these issued happened within a very short time frame. June 2025 and I took my car into Crews Chevy, they want over $15,000 to repair. All of these items I have mentioned have numerous class action lawsuits (that they have won) for the year of my vehicle. I have spoken with GM (and have a case number) however, they are unwilling to repair, at no cost to me. …
Tire size P255/55R20. I purchased 4 new tires February 2023 from Jim Dobson Ford in Winamac, In. I've taken my car back there at least 4 if not 5 times because of vibration. I finally took my car to a different facility and they showed me where 2 of my tires that was in the rear are separating and need replaced. I feel these tires was defective from the start, my car was like riding on air before I purchased these tires. They was supposed to be a 65,000 mile tire, they have 40,000 miles on them. I tired to utilize the warranty but the manager at Jim Dobson will not file warranty on them because he said Bridgestone will not honor warranty. These tires are a safety hazard, I have parked my car until I can get different tires put on them
Dealership I bought this car from 5 days ago, mckluski chevy in Cincinnati Ohio stated it would be another week before i could buy the car as there was a recall on the tires and they were putting new ones on. They did not put new ones on cleared the recall without fixing it. I paid $100 locally just to have them plugged to hold air and was told they are not safe and need replaced due to tread and dry rot. All valve steps and beads were leaking and had to be replaced as well.
