The headlamps have quit working when driving at night but will come back on later. This has happened several times. I found GM recall number 14291 that is supposed to include 2006 Chevy Trailblazers and pertains to this problem. The local dealership told us that our vehicle has a vin number that is not covered. It would seem that all model 2006 Chevy Trailblazers would use the same HDM modules in them when they were built. Is ours covered?
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer. While driving at approximately 35 MPH, the headlights failed to illuminate. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed that the wiring was burned and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the failure recurred several times. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 65,000. Updated 5/15/15 updated 05/26/15
My lights started going out quite a while ago, for no reason at all. When it first started they would go out for a short period of time, and as time went on I had to revert to using my high beams, because after changing 3 switches, putting new lights in, having the wiring inspected wire by wire, (in surch of a bad wire). The low beams might come on for about 10-15 seconds when I first start my engine, (might) every once in a while, and then that go off and I'm back to using the high beams. I had to adjust my high beams down so I'm able to have lights, without blinding on coming traffic. That means I don't have any "high beams" when I need them. My VIN is not in the recall, yet my lights are doing what many others have been doing. I've been dealing with this for about 5 years if not longer. …
The low beam headlights would not come on. I contacted good Chevy in renton, wa on Saturday 3-14-15, about getting it fixed and they said I would have to pay for it as the recall parts were not out yet. I told them I had a letter from GM that said they would replace the headlight driver module with the same as it had and when the new module comes out they would replace it for free. They insisted that I pay for diagnosis and parts and would be reimbursed at a later time when the recall was performed. I diagnosed the problem my self and purchased the headlight control module and replaced it my self. My wife drives the car to work and leaves the house at 4:30 am and she needs the headlights to work. The NHTSA campaign id number is 14v-755. GM recall number is 14291. The letter states all this will be done free of charge.
While driving down the road my headlights would go out. We put a new fuse in that has helped for a while. Now about 2 months ago I shut my car off and opened the doorthe radio would not shut off so I turned my car on and back off it went off that time. I took my daughter into dance went out to get something out of my car and my headlights were still on. So I turned my car on and off looked still on so I went back to watch my daughters dance. After another hour it was time to go home walked outside headlights were still on. Got home my husband looked at it and tried turning them off nothing would turn them off. So he pulled the fuses he said the relay was so hot he couldn't even touch it. So I have no dim lights unless I carry fuses with me to out in and take out or I just can't drive it at night.

I started truck at night noticed no headlights .I had parking lights and my bright lights worked. I manually turned the light switch to off and on and still did not work. I had to drive a mile in town with my bright lights on to get home.but then the next day they were working again. This happened 9 day after I bought this vehicle.I took it back where I got it and they put in a fuse.I still have issues with the lights flickering and going dim and bright while I am driving also noticed the volt gauge moves around..I am scared to death to drive at night and to even be able to travel any where out of town if they go out while I am driving. I or some one can be killed if the lights go out while im driving.
