Tl* the contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT 370. While driving at various speeds and while idling, the fuel gauge fluctuated from empty to full continuously and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The technician diagnosed that the fuel level sensor failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 113,762. Updated 4/16/15 updated 9/29/2017
Checking fuel indicator started to be stuck on below empty causing me to run out of gas on a few occasions. And from my understanding this has been a flaw in GM trucks for sometime now. And the cost for the repair is over $500.00. These vehicles cost too much money to have these types of problems and the dealer not think it is there responsibility to correct.
My 2005 Chevy Trailblazer is completely going crazy it seems everything electrical is going wrong with it. I am afraid to let my wife or my kids drive in it because I never know what's going to go wrong while driving. My whole gas system is gone from fuel level indicator to the gauge. My entire dashboard is not working. Lights are going out. What is crazy about this is that I am one of thousands that this is happening to. Chevy needs to fix this problem before someone does get killed. Waiting for fatalities before making Chevy fixes there awfully made vehicles is unacceptable. I understand the situation our economy is in but these thousands of Trailblazer owners that are having these problems shouldn't be paying thousands of dollars to be getting there entire electrical problem fixed. I do not know one owner of a 2006 Trailblazer that does not have this same problem. …
Fuel gauge has been ready empty for several months. I looked on internet to see how to fix or possible problems. I noticed there was a letter sent years ago to the affect that GM would cover half the cost to repair, up to 10 years in service or 100,000 miles. When I contacted dealer the car was in service 10 years and 2 weeks and has 84,000 miles. I was informed GM will not help cover expense for repair do to time in service. I am questioning if this could become a recall or extended in service dating for this problem.
Received a letter from GM regarding potential problem with fuel tank inlet valve. Took vehicle to dealer len stoler, inc in westminster md in December. Problem was diagnosed as a fuel tank inlet valve fracture. On dec 3rd 2015 fuel tank was replaced and inspection done. Subsequent to service when fuel was placed in vehicle gas poured out on pavement. Prior to that service this was not an issue only the smell of fuel in the interior and a few drops of fuel noted. Took vehicle back to dealer and problem now diagnosed as inlet pipe fracture. Was told I would have to pay for this service, despite service dept having not mentioned this when fuel tank was replaced and vehicle inspected and left dealer in unsafe operating condition. Part was not available and was told I should drive it and have work done later. …
Tl* the contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT 370. While in a parking lot, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was towed to an independent dealer. The technician diagnosed that the fuel pump and fuel filter needed to be replaced the filler inlet was also cracked. The contact mentioned that the fuel pump, the fuel filter, and the hose were replaced. However, the fuel tank filler inlet was not. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 115,869.
There is a known problem with the gas tanks on these vehicles. The vapors cause the check engine light to illuminate. In nys this car will not pass the yearly inspection. Chevrolet has an extended coverage bulletin out but it only is for vehicles that have les than 150,000 miles on it or are not older than 15 years old. Whichever come first. Prior to this, their extended coverage was for 150,000 miles or 12 years. I was excluded from the first time due to age of the vehicle when I purchased it and am now excluded from the second extended coverage due to the mileage. It is absolutely ridiculous that this is not an official recall and that Chevy has loopholed numerous owners out of the coverage by not increasing the mileage requirement. The national average to drive a car according to the NHTSA is between 15,000 and 16,000 per year. …
Tl* the contact owns a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT 370. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle surged forward and the rpms fluctuated without warning. In addition, the contact stated that an abnormal fuel odor emitted from the vehicle as the check fuel warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel tank vacuum and fuel tank needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
