Involved in read end accident when at a complete stop.. The force of the accident caused the driverside seat to proceed forward then back causing the seat to collapse. Our concern is that the truck is made for a child to ride in the jump seats located behind the driver and passenger seats .. If my child was with my during the accident then she would have been crushed not only by the force but with the seat collapsing causing major injuries for her . Would like to know if this has been reported before and if this is a safety flaw???...
The headrest in non-adjustable, and came up to the back of my neck, which when I was rear ended my neck hit the headrest and I now have neck injuries which May have been voidable if the headrest was not in the position it was. I have a picture of me sitting in the truck to show where it came to my neck.
Driver's and passenger's head restraints inadequately protected the occupant in event of an accident. The occupant sustained injuries in a 10mph accident, when vehicle was struck from behind. The restraints are positioned approximately at mid-neck level and are not adjustable.
While sitting in park consumer was rear ended by someone else doing about 40 MPH. Vehicle hit consumer, and knocked him into another vehicle. Driver's side seat went back so hard that it caused consumer to break back window with head.
I have had a problem with the ABS since I got the vehicle, however, I was unfamiliar with ABS and thought the problem was normal. When I brake, if I hit a bump, the brakes lock up, and I continue to slide. This has happened on many occasions, on dry and wet pavements and on snow and ice. I came very close (10-15 feet) to sliding into a busy intersection once when this brake problem occurred. I received a recall letter from the manufacturer and when I attempted to have the problem fixed, was told that my particular vehicle was not covered under the recall because it was manufactured at a different plant. I have wasted a lunch hour and a lot of time on the phone trying to get satisfaction from GMC, to no avail, besides putting my life and other's lives on the line whenever I drive. As for the driver's seat problem, this developed about 2 years ago. …
Driver/passenger seatbacks do not lock when someone in jump seat w/shoulders against back of seat, when slamming on brakes the back of seat would move, only shoulder belt would hold, took to dealership who experienced the same problem, have spoken to mfg.
Front passenger seat folds forward to allow passengers acces ti the back seat. However, there is no lever to pull or button to latch the seatback. In hard baraking situations the seatback flops forward and the seat slides into the windshield.
While driving 5 MPH consumer was rear ended by another vehicle, and driver side air bag didn't deploy. Also, headrest isn't adjustable, consumer's head hit back window, causing injury.
