The vehicle is equipped with a vehicle collision warning device that is intended to warn the driver of a vehicle in front that you are to close to and closing range without braking. On about 1/2 dozen occasions the vehicle's early detection system has engaged without any vehicles in front. These occurrences seem to be on days when it is raining and their are reflections off the road, or very sunny days (again causing reflections). The flashing light, loud alarm, and interruption with regular audio is very jarring (scary). On one occasion I applied my brakes very hard because of the alarm (but there was no car in front) - this almost caused the car behind to hit me. The system should be disengaged to prevent a false/positive alarm. I have taken it for service and contacted general motors without results.

I own a 2011 Chevy Impala and for the past couple months on 6 different occasions as I am driving down the freeway my engine power is reduced and "service stabilitrak" light appears. As I have researched and have found that this is a common and very unsafe problem among GM vehicles. I have also found that there is no clear solution to why this is happening with many mechanics stumped and replacing parts in which the problem recurs only a short time later. I have also found replacing what the diagnosis of code p2135 says the problem still May not be solved. As one can imagine that driving down the freeway with a semi, heavy traffic, etc. And losing engine power May lead to significant negative results. I have not installed any parts other than tires after purchasing of vehicle.

I bought a used 2011 Impala and did notice the rear seat head rests were quite high, but thought I would get used to it. I however after three weeks have not. It is a hindrance having to spend eye time on the rear of the vehicle due to the seat head rests being too high. When driving in 5 lane traffic you need to devote all of your attention to all around you, and you are not able to do this in a 2011 Impala. I have not contacted the dealer because it appears from other postings that the only resolution at this time is to buy 2012 rear seats for over $400. These seats are definitely a dangerous accident waiting to happen.

There is a constant knocking in the dashboard, when I attempt to turn on the air condition or the heating system in the vehicle. This knocking causes the heat to be passed threw the vehicle, in the summer time I would have to turn the car off and on, then keep adjusting the air control until the air began to blow. Majority of the time the air does not come on, there is just constant heat coming for the dashboard and the floor board. I begin to notice that this knocking would occur while I was not in the car, while hitting the remote for entry into car and while the car is being driven. I had a neighbor whose vehicle was doing the same thing. As time went on I could be walking threw a parking and hear that same sounds in other Impala models.

I have owned the car since 9/2013. Shortly after purchasing the airbag sensor light started illuminating on and off. I took it back to the dealer and it was serviced. Shortly after that it came on again. Then back in February the car started making a very annoying and embarrassing clicking sound that comes from the ac/heating unit. I was told that it was common in the Impala and that it is the actuator. It has gotten so bad that it clicks even when the car is not running and is locked. I know at least 7 people here locally that has the same problems as listed above with the same year and model car. Please take a survey or do something because this is definitely a manufacturing issue.

2009 Impala · 92,000 miles · Feb 2014

After parking a 2008 Impala on a flat concrete surface I took the lug nuts off the passenger side front tire . I then placed the jack (which had never been used before ever ) under the proper fitting points as shown in the manual behind the front wheel. And jacked the car up until the tire could be removed from the car. After the tire was completely off I was visually inspecting the brake pads but not touching it when the jack began to break off from the base. As I moved away to protect myself the jack completely broke away from the base and the car landed on the ground, broken jack and rotor . I then called aaa who took a 3 ton jack and inserted it under the front of the car and jacked it up enough to put the tire back on . Never in my life have I seen this happen before and I have changed the tires on many cars and trucks. …
