What owners report
On July 18, 2026, I was driving to work around 0530 am when my rear driver's side tire blew out from the tread sidewall to the rim ruptured, having a catastrophic failure that almost resulted in a crash. The tire only had 18,500 miles without any prior damage or hitting something. Their is a current recall for these tires for the very thing that happened yet my tire batch was not listed as part of the recall. This event was costly and prevented me from working that day. Continental CrossContact 275/40/R21
21" Equinox EV RS wheel cracked at the lip even though we do not recall hitting anything. No known potholes or other impacts. This caused air loss from the tire and had to refill the air at least once a day. When the tire shop removed the tire to inspect it further we found no damage to the tire, just the wheel was cracked. Called dealership and they claimed it would not be a warranty issue. We ended up putting different wheels on the car as we didn't want to have this issue again.
The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Equinox equipped with Hankook Tires, Tire Line: Kinergy GT, Tire Size: 235/50/R19, DOT Number 00T231BH03623. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, there was vibration coming from the vehicle, and the contact became aware that the stopping distance was extended while coming to a stop on wet roads. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local tire shop, where it was determined that all four tires needed to be replaced due to premature wear. The contact stated that the wear marker was visible on all the tires. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact called the manufacturer and was referred to the tire manufacturer, who advised the contact that the tires were manufactured as requested by the manufacturer. The failure mileage was 25,316.
The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Equinox equipped with Continental Tires, Tire Line: Crosscontact RX, Tire Size: 275/40/R21, DOT Number: IVY03HFMJ0224. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact briefly felt violent vibrations coming from the vehicle before the vehicle suddenly veered sharply to the right, slightly leaving the roadway, resulting in damage to the passenger's side front wheel and tire. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who diagnosed the vehicle with an unstated failure with the tires. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 82,045.
My car notified me that i had a low tire. I put air in it. A few days later i would get another notification my tire was low I had a slow leak in my tire. Took tire into tire shop and was told my rim was cracked on the inside. I am still under factory warranty. I called the dealership and was told to bring the rim/tire and the vehicle in so they could take pictures of the crack in the rim, the car and the vin #. The service tech submitted everything to GM. GM denied the claim and said it was not a defect on their end. The dealership offered to order a new rim at our cost of $938.50 and would be available the next day.
These tires came on my brand new car that is less than a year old (21000 miles). I went for an oil change and the dealership told me I have 3/32nds on my tires! Bridgestone new about the rapid wear of these tires but never sent out any kind of notification about it. My dealership had a bulletin about the tires premature wearing. (#20-NA-159) Bridgestone said they are offering to cover 40% of replacement cost if I get the same tires otherwise they aren't giving anything.....I would NEVER EVER get these tires on my car.
When driving and attempting to apply pressure to my brakes, there is no digital response for my wheels stopping/catching. My brakes are not giving a complete response when applying pressure. Also, the tire service monitoring system is not working properly. It only shows dashes. My tire information is as follows: Michelin Premier [redacted] TPCSPEC1467MS MAX LOAD 850 kg (1874 LBS) MAX PRESS300 kPa (44 PSI)
So where do i begin. There are no leaks on my driveway but I have to add coolant every other day & then when I opened my hood it looks like there's grease everywhere like over the bolts where the bottom & top meet. At time the car stalls it loses power or doesn't even pick up power. It just drags. Sometimes a strong odor comes from the vents of the a/c & then it at times doesn't blow cool air just flat air. Also six months after having the vehicle the 2 TPMS went out & when I took it back to dealer where i purchased it they basically told me that I didn't even have any TPMS that the machine didn't pick up any & now the display was showing all 4 empty & the TPMS icon constantly on the display. I found that odd & I didn't know much about TPMS at the time. …
