Tl contact owns a 1995 Chevrolet Camaro. While driving 15 MPH, the brakes failed and the vehicle crashed into the rear of another vehicle. The bumpers on both vehicles were scratched. The contact stated that when the brakes were applied, the pedal would drop 3 inches and then re-engage after 2 seconds. The ABS warning indicator light illuminated after the pedal returned. The vehicle has not been inspected by a dealer. The current and failure mileages were 180,000.
While driving at 45 MPH, the consumer was involved in a front collision and none of the air bags deployed. The dealer was notified. The accident occurred during a rainstorm. The vehicle hydroplaned, spun around, and struck the median. The anti lock brakes failed to help gain control of the vehicle.
Vehicle was traveling about 45 MPH, hydroplaned, spun out of control, ABS system failed to stabilize vehicle. Car struck guardrail, no driver or passenger airbag deployment. Vehilce is total loss.
ABS brake failed 5 times, pedal went floor, loss of effectiveness, once resulting in an accident, impact 12:00 position, driver's side airbag did not deploy. Also, seat belt did not hold/engine constantly overheated and windshield wipers were inoperative, won't clean windshield properly.
I have had a problem with the ABS light coming on just shortly after the vehicle was purchased. They supposedly said it was nothing serious, they May have replace(doubt it) or just reset sensor. On 7/3/00, my lights(ABS & low trac) came on so I called different mechanic...I was told that could be nothing but could also be problem and to bring car in. When I took the car in I was informed that the sensor hub was not working and so I had the left side replaced. One month later, August 21, the same thing happened again. Took the car in and this time it was the right side that had to be replaced. I think that Chevy or anyone else for that matter, should really take their customers serious when they say there is a problem with the car, as we the consumer drive their vehicles on a daily basis and know when something is not working correctly. …
ABS light will come on and stay on until vehicle has been turned off. While driving it will come on at random without the brakes being used. Also the low track will come on when braking. I have had the brakes replaced four times since I bought the car. The rotors were also replaced and the problem still occurs. Sometimes it seems as though the car is not going to stop at all. I am very afraid one day the brakes will not work when I need them to. Could you please follow up with the Chevrolet company and myself about this problem. It occurs to often and I have had mechanics look at it but they do not know what the problem is.
ABS failure causing braking problem: low trac light is coming on during braking of the vehicle which is causing the system to automatically release the brakes momentarily to keep the vehicle from sliding (for a split second it feels like you don't have any brakes) and then the brakes grab again and the vehicle stops hard. This problem just recently started and is occurring every time the vehicle is brought to a full stop no matter what type of road surface. Also, "ABS inoper" light is coming on intermittently and staying lit for periods of time. I'm very concerned with this failure in the braking system.
Reported car was slow to (long distances) stop dealer stated nothing wrong with breaks. When warreny ended dealer adjusedt rear beraks and continued to state nothing wrong on 8/15/00 car would slow to stop and then start rolling again. Cost me $530.00 to fix defective sensor. How many people will loose there lives do to defective ABS parts before a recall ans I feal I should get a refund this was not from misuse the car has 23261miles on it
ABS braking problems. Tt whne this vehicle is driven in the raon, the braking ability is almost non existent unless vehicle is driven with brakes applied to heat and temporarily dry out front brake assemblies, vehicle is also very unstable on wet roads as factory tires hydroplane with no warning at any speed from 35 MPH and up, dealership did a complete inspection of brake system and found no defective parts in the braking system.
While driving consumer noticed that the ABS light was illuminated on the dashboard. Contacted the dealer, dealer has replaced parts. But problem still occurs. Consumer states while making a normal stop, he felt a sharp pulsation of the brake pedal and an immediate soft feeling in the brakes. While driving at highway sppeds with cruise control activated, vehicle will surge to 500 RPM, dealer could not find any problems.
