1995 Chevrolet C10 recalls (7)
Fuel system, gasoline › Storage › Tank assembly
Vehicle description: crew cab pickup trucks. The front, inner corner of the fuel tank can contact the body sill either intermittently or constantly. This movement can cause a discernible noise and, over time, can wear a hole in or crack the fuel tank at point of contact.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect the fuel tank for wear and, either install a spacer between the fuel tank and the front crossmember, or if necessary, replace the fuel tank.
Visibility › Windshield wiper/washer
Vehicle description: light duty pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles, 2 and 4-wheel drive. Solder joints near the wiring harness connector can crack causing the windshield wipers to work intermittently.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the wiper motor circuit board and cover.
Seats
Vehicle description: extended cab and 2-door utility vehicles equipped with reclining seats and the easy-entry feature. These vehicles exhibit a condition in which a pinch point exists in the recliner mechanism that can trap and pinch a person's hand or finger(s) when the easy-entry feature is activated.
Remedy: Dealers will install a protector cover over the recliner mechanism.
Vehicle speed control
These vehicles were assembled with the throttle cable contacting the dash mat which could bind the throttle. This does not meet with the maximum return times required by federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 124, "accelerator control systems."
Remedy: Dealers will inspect for adequate throttle cable to dash mat clearance, and if there is insufficient clearance, cut out a portion of the dash mat to provide proper clearance.
Steering › Steering wheel/handle bar
The steering column upper intermediate-shaft nut May not be torqued to proper specifications. The nut could loosen and detach allowing the through-bolt that secures the upper intermediate-shaft to the lower steering column shaft joint to fall out.
Remedy: Dealers will torque the suspect fasteners to the proper specifications.
Seat belts › Front
These vehicles were built with front seat belt systems with no energy management loops and May not meet the head injury criteria requirements of FMVSS no. 208, "occupant crash protection."
Remedy: Dealers will replace the retractor portion of the seat belt assembly(s) with one having the newly designed energy-management twin-loop system.

Seat belts › Front
If both the lap-belt and shoulder-belt energy management loops on the front seat belt assemblies release at or near the same time, acceleration forces can cause the buckle release mechanism to activate and allow the buckle to separate from the latch.
Remedy: Dealers will remove the stitching that creates the energy management loop in the shoulder belt(s).

See: NHTSA campaign id numbers: 98V150000 & 98V150001. When I took the truck to the dealer, they said my truck was within the same year as the recalls, but my VIN # was not one of the ones being recalled. They said they would have to charge me to fix it. My truck is doing exactly the same as this recall notice says;windshield wipers and washer work intermittently. Please advise as soon as possible; should I get this fixed on my own and will I be reimbursed? Thanks for your help! Roger jacobson.
Consumer contacted dealer in reference to recall number 98v15001/manufacturer's recall 98043 and 96c26 concerning windshield wiper motor malfunctioning. Dealer stated this vehicle not included in the recall although consumer was experiencing the same type of problems as stated in the recalls. Also, while dealer was aware of other recalls, manufacturer was not aware of any other recalls.
Brakes
Anti-lock brakes are not working properly at all. Consumer took vehicle back to the dealership for brake problems. The mechanic told him that his vechicle is safe. His complaint is when he is in the parking lot driving 32 miles and applies brakes to the floor, they just don't stop vehicle.
The anti-lock warning brake light stays on all the time. The light has been on for over two years. The dealership/repair shop waere not able to determine what the problem with the system was. Please provide any further details.
Seats
Driver's side seat frame keeps breaking, causing seat to fall into back seat. Dealer has been contacted. Consumer states he heard a popping noise for some time before the seat started rocking backward and forward, consumer found the frame on the left front corner was gone, it is a thin sheet metal and not built strong enough, the new frame is popping already.
Seat anchor separatesd from metal frame. The frame crossmember is fractured in several locations. It appears to be faulty or inferior steel.
