A warning message appeared the following day after purchasing the car. The car stopped functioning while driving on the highway 70+ mph. The car started to shake violently and a-lot of alarms went off. I barely managed to pull over on the side of the interstate. I waited for 10 minutes before I could get the car to start again. I only had the car for 3 days. This problem persisted so I exchanged it for a different car. The X7 would turn off on its own and it kept doing the same thing putting me and my children in perilous situations. This message popped up multiple times before the car stopped functioning properly. "You can continue driving. Chasis function restricted. If the problem recurs, have it checked by your service center". I did not feel safe in the vehicle especially with children in the car. …

The air condition is inadequate for temperatures above 80 . Due to the inadequacy of the coldness and the speed at which the fan blows, all passengers in a fully loaded vehicle complain of excessive heat temperatures Safety is an issue if left in the vehicle for a long period of time without proper temperatures being reached for all in the vehicle. The problem has not been able to be reproduced by the local dealer, stating that everything is operating within BMW manufacturer specifications. However, the issue is KNOWN to BMW manufacturer, and BMW dealerships, that the air condition system is in adequate for temperatures above 80 . THE ISSUE APPEARS TO BE SPECIFIC TO THE BMW X7 MODELS. My New 2024 BMW X7 i60 having less than 7000 miles, was recently taken into the local BMW dealership for complaints of slow too cool, or an insufficiently cooling air-conditioning system. …

2024 X7 with 13k miles on it roughly. Have had multiple drivetrain malfunction issues that caused car to not start. Dealer first did a software update which i dont believe fixed anything. second time the issue happened they said it was due to the car battery not being charged enough. car has had multiple issues related to low charge. BMW says its due to me not taking the car on long enough drives. However the charging on the car is inconsistent and faults related to the 48volt charging system which have stated (repair required soon) 224F8F were cleared by the dealer and not investigated. Car has many times exhibited low battery issues with electronics being sporatic and unreliable. car will sometimes charge battery on short drives and other times will not charge the battery on long/normal drives. charging is inconsistent. …

On June 29th, 2023 at approximately 8:45 AM we were pulling into a parking space slowly tapping the brakes to slow and stop the vehicle. About 2/3 of the way into the parking stall around 3 or 4 feet from the curb, the vehicle actually accelerated while pressing the brake jumping the curb. We pressed on the brakes again and the car accelerated even faster crossing the sidewalk crashing into a building. We believe the brakes caused the SUA (Sudden Unintended Acceleration) accelerating the vehicle twice and the vehicle failed to apply the brakes. We believe this would've been caused by a computer error on the vehicle. We also believe the vehicle to initiate the two safety systems failed, Crash Imminent Braking & Dynamic Brake Support thus being able to avoid the accident. To the best of our knowledge, no warnings or alerts were displayed on the vehicle before the crash. …

The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact not to drive the vehicle and to take the vehicle to the local dealer for assistance. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that an unknown software update needed to be completed. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 5,858.

Component Failing: Telematics Control Unit (TCU) / SOS Emergency Call System This vehicle is experiencing an intermittent, total failure of the factory-installed SOS/Emergency Call System due to a known manufacturing defect. BMW has documented this issue in Technical Service Bulletin SIB 65 12 22, admitting that an improper factory paint and sealing process causes the roof-mounted shark fin antenna to separate from the vehicle body. As a direct result of this assembly defect, rainwater has leaked past the roofline and into the vehicle's interior cabin, flooding and short-circuiting the Telematics Control Unit (TCU). Consequently, the critical life-safety SOS system is failing to operate correctly. In the event of a severe crash or medical emergency, the vehicle's automated collision notification system will fail to contact first responders or transmit the vehicle's GPS location. …

The steering wheel locked in position while driving. The vehicle would not turn, which almost caused an accident. Warning lights came on: Evasion Assistant/Steering Assistant. Once the car was pulled over and restarted, the warning lights temporarily stopped but returned and malfunctioned again. BMW confirmed that there was a steering malfunction and found that a leaking water pump infiltrated the steering rack and electrical harness which created the steering system to malfunctioned. BMW only approved replacing the water pump. The technician stated they recommended replacing the steering rack and electrical harness, but BMW said for them to test drive for 20 miles, if no error pops up then return the vehicle back to the customer!
