I have a code on my Acura regarding the driver side airbag. The code is 11-10, covered under service bulletin: 18-020, noting defects in the driver side air bag module. I brought my vehicle in to Hall Acura in November 2025 where this was officially diagnosed and a order was placed for a part on back order (Part Number: 77810-tx4-a40za). To this date, the part continues to be on "critical back order". I have escalated this to Honda Corporation and opened up a case with their office (Case Number: [redacted]). I receive weekly emails stating that they are working on this but the part is still on critical back order. I have pushed to escalate this further and they state this is all that can be done.

NHTSA Safety Complaint - Acura RDX Driver-Side Airbag Module Availability Vehicle: 2013 Acura RDX VIN: [redacted] Component: Driver-Side Airbag Module Part Number: 77810-TX4-A40ZA-MOD My 2013 Acura RDX was vandalized in January 2026, and the driver-side airbag module was stolen. My mechanic contacted Rallye Acura to obtain the required replacement OEM part. The required component is the Driver Side Air Bag Module, Part No. 77810-TX4-A40ZA-MOD. The replacement part was ordered, but it has remained on critical back order for more than six months. Acura opened Case No. [redacted]; however, despite repeated communications, Acura has been unable to provide any estimated availability date or a timeline for resolution. Because this is a safety-critical component, the vehicle cannot legally be driven without the required airbag module. …

Takata recall. Airbags did not deploy after a front end collision by hitting a concrete block light post which occurred on a city street while the vehicle was in motion. Resulting in severe damage to vehicle

Takata recall since being initally notified by Acura of Honda March 2016, I have had no communication nor repair by Honda, despite several calls to the dealer. Dealer simply repeats that he has not received the required parts from Honda/Acura to repair this defect, despite Acura's own description of the problem as being potentially dangerous, with possible injury or even death resulting. The initial notification noted that parts would be available summer of 2016, but as we near the end of July, absolutely nothing from Honda/Acura, though long past the 60 days described as a 'reasonable time period' for the repair.

"Takata recall" - rec'd recall notice March 2016 from Acura indicating airbags would become available summer 2016. Called macchurchill Acura dealer July 20, 2016 to schedule appt and advised they would place an order for airbag but takes 3 to 6 months to receive. Obviously airbags were not available as their March letter indicated. As of this date, oct 13, 2016, an airbag still not available and I am forced to drive with a possible deadly airbag. Their offer of rental does not qualify as an acceptable replacement. I am not satisfied with Acura's handling of my airbag and can't believe this would be acceptable time table for any such recall. I would appreciate any help or pressure you can provide on getting an airbag for my car. Thank you, [redacted] (Acura's safety recall: campaign #jy2 / service bulletin # 16-010)

Desiccated Air Bag Inflator Rupture

NHTSA investigation EA21002 · opened Sep 17, 2021 · open

From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited.
