The contact stated that while driving on several occasions, a sticky film on the dashboard created a glare, obstructing the driver's vision of the driver. On one occasion, while attempting to lower the sun visor, the contact's left arm got stuck on the dashboard, and force was needed to remove the arm from the dashboard. The contact's arm was burning after being removed from the dashboard, and there were marks on the left arm. The contact used burn ointment on the arm, but no medical attention was needed. The dashboard of my 2008 Toyota Camry is shining/reflecting from the windshield, making it clear visibility very difficult for the driver. I called Toyota they mentioned they had a warranty extension for a limited period and now they are not covering/fixing it anymore. It should be a "SAFETY RECALL" and all owners should be sent a notice to get the factory defective product fixed. My daughter was involved in a crash on Feb 14th, 2023 because visibility was very seriously constrained because the dashboard was reflecting from the windshield. Photographs attached to document the issue.

The dashboard in my 2008 Toyota Camry LE has deteriorated over time and has melted, becoming sticky and glossy. This condition causes sunlight to reflect off the dashboard onto the windshield, creating a strong glare. This glare significantly impairs my visibility while driving, especially in bright daylight conditions. At times, I am unable to clearly see traffic, road conditions, or other vehicles. This creates a dangerous situation and increases the risk of a crash. The issue has progressively worsened over time. There were no warning messages or indicators prior to this condition developing. The problem appears to be caused by the dashboard material degrading under normal use and heat exposure. I reported this issue to Toyota dealers, including Fremont Toyota and Milpitas Toyota, but no corrective action was taken. The condition remains unresolved. …

The padded dash panel has failed so that it cannot provide impact protection because of hard material that has chipped and cracked. The dealer inspected the problem and gave me a repair estimate of $2800.00. I complained to Toyota and was told that the extended dash warranty ended in 2018. Prior to failure, the dash was sticky but not chipped and cracked. Why is Toyota allowed to stop any warranty or compensation for dash impact protection on my 13 year old vehicle?

During an accident in November of 2015 I received substantial injuries as a result of the airbag not inflating or the seatbelt engaging. I spoke with the body shop as to why neither system worked as designed, they could not answer this question. They believed that the sensors were compressed to engage the air bags but it did not engage. They also noted that when I hit the brakes the seatbelts should have locked which would have kept me stationary instead of allow me to hit the driver door jam above the steering wheel. Both vehicles were in motion. The vehicle that hit me made a left turn into my front left quarter panel damaging the entire panel and part of the front driver door.

I purchased this 2007 car new in late 2006. After about 5 years, the dashboard began to get shiny and very sticky. It appeared to be melting. If you touch it, it is sticky and can easily be gouged. No amount of cleaning is able to resolve the shiny, sticky mess. During the day, the dashboard has so much glare that it is nearly impossible to see out the windshield (car has a grey interior with a light grey dash) without putting a towel or dark sweatshirt on the dash to cover the glare. I have never used any chemical product on the dash. No armor all or other products were ever used. I live in southern georgia just north of the florida border now. When I purchased the car, I lived in massachusetts. I moved to georgia in 2008 and the problem started in 2011-2012. This is an extreme safety hazard due to the glare during the day significantly limiting visibility. …
