Driver's Outside mirror shaking at highway speeds. Massive blur, headlights "dance" around, quite distracting and disorienting when checking for safe lane changes. Took brand new (less than 400 mile) 2024 Crosstrek Limited into local dealer to report buzzy left mirror. They took a look at it. Received this report: (Tech) said the mirror glass itself does shake but that is going to be normal because of how the mirror glass sits in the housing...according to our tech the vehicle is operating as designed I'm sorry, there's no way that a mirror should be shaking like that. The inside rearview mirror is pristine. The passenger side doesn't shake. It's the driver's mirror and now two Subaru employees have confirmed some shake, but won't do anything about it. This is a safety issue. It's starting to get traction on Reddit. …

There are 2 issues that I have noticed since I bought my car from a subaru dealership 10 DAYS ago. the first is that upon driving at highway speeds (over 50 mph) It feels like the car is jerky and pulls in a shaky rocking manner. this happened continuously, when I was using the cruise control and when I was not using the cruise control. It basically felt like I was driving in 40mph winds that were moving my car independently of what I was doing. The second is also something that happens at highway speeds, my driver side mirror shakes and vibrates so much so that I can't make out the surrounding space, cars and road at all. I scheduled a service appointment at the same dealership immediately. I told them these issues and upon inspection they reported that they do not see or report any such issues that I am concerned about. Stating that these are quote "characteristics" of the car. …

1. Component/System Failure The rearview mirror became completely detached from its mounting on the windshield. The detached mirror is still available for inspection upon request. Subaru has declined my reasonable request to either repair it or reimburse me for the time and effort required to arrange and perform the repair. 2. Risk to Safety This sudden detachment posed a serious safety hazard. While driving, the mirror unexpectedly fell into my line of sight, causing me to brake immediately. Fortunately, this occurred while I was driving at low speed on a local road; had it happened on a highway, the risk of collision or a multi-vehicle accident would have been significant. 3. Problem Reproduction / Confirmation The issue has not yet been confirmed or replicated by any dealer or independent service center. …

Drivers side mirror shakes when in motion mainly on uneven roads, slurry sealed roads and freeway. 4 service visits with parts replaced at each visit - vibration still an issue. 5th appointment with engineer more parts exchanged with a claim of working as designed. Extreme distraction while driving and a safety concern when you can not see clearly out of the driver's side mirror while driving.. currently there is a continuous vibration on the freeway and they state everything is working as designed and there is no abnormal vibration. This is a common known issue with these cars and there is no fix and the company will not admit a serious issue that effects many 2024 and 2025 models. If they replace the mirror the fix does not last long at all and the vibration comes back. …

I wanted to reach out to you about our new 2024 Crosstrek Wilderness. Subaru is having many issues with their thin windshields for 2023/2024 Crosstrek windshields. Our new vehicle has barely 2100 miles and the windshield has cracked in two places. Not from a rock chip and from normal highway driving. This is a safety issue. Normal to work driving, No off roading. I have been reading up on Subaru windshields and how they require constant repair/replacement. Subaru should issue a recall and install thicker windshields that meet higher safety standards. [redacted]

The windshield appeared to have spontaneously cracked overnight while parked on the driveway. The crack formed across the top of the windshield, across the eyesight. The day before, the car was at the dealership for an oil change and tire rotation. Unknown if lifting the car for the tire rotation caused the stress that may have caused the crack formation. The car was taken back to the dealer and the windshield had to be replaced. A claim to our insurance was done because the dealer said this was not covered by the warranty. I did not see any chip in the windshield that would have caused this.

Windshield suddenly and spontaneously cracked, violently and with an explosive sound, due to higher-than-average outside air temperature (100 F, Arizona in July). Vehicle was being driven on a freeway during cross--country trip. Crack occurred in driver's line-of-sight and presented a dangerous driving condition. In service for 2 years and 10K miles and never driven off-road or incurred a windshield chip from flying objects. Subaru refused to repair under warranty. Discovered Subaru had a recent history of similar windshield problems including some covered by Technical Service Bulletin(s).

I have noticed an issue with Driver side mirror housing, vibrates, and shakes while driving at any speed since I took delivery on September 27, 2024 from Subaru Of Clear Lake. It is making it hard to observe anything in that mirror, making it almost useless. Took it to Team Gilman Subaru north. They said that they tighten the mirror/ housing and that are confident that it is secure, but once I pull off lot it is still doing it! But I also was told that they would get me out quick and not have to do anything paperwork makes me wonder.
