Should have a file on record, 1999 Plymouth Breeze shifted out of park, with engine turned off, and no key in ignition, drifted backwards, ripped front passenger door off, nearly ran over two children in the street. Called Chrysler customer service they advised no recall on gear shift will not pay for repair. Repaired car filed complaint, 1 year later, received a card that gear shift is a major recall, sent card and proof of repair in to Chrysler, they refused to take any action, called Chrysler customer service they told me we refused before we refusing you again, even if it is recalled.. I know why the are in financial trouble with customer service the way they are. My total for door and shifter came to 1300, the shifter was alone 235,00 or so.
Problems with brake equipment on 1999 Plymouth Breeze. Rapid excessive wear had lowered the brake assembly which placed the upper brake pad close of slipping underneath it's upper locating point with a possible loss of control of total brake failure. The consumer also had questions about recall#04V021000.
While driving, the consumer applied the brakes, but the pedal went to the floor. The vehicle started shaking violently and uncontrollably. The driver lost control of the vehicle and hit another vehicle head on. The vehicle caught fire. The fire department was called to extinguished the fire. Both frontal air bags did not deploy. The driver sustained head and neck injuries and was transported by ambulance to the hospital. The vehicle was towed and totaled out by the insurance company. Please fill in additional information. The vehicle was totally burned beyond recognition everything was destroyed. One death as a result of the accident. The consumer now walks with a limp. Accident happened around spring 1999
Brake line on front wheel burst, lost most braking ability, luckly there was not an accident. The rubber brake line to the front caliber rubbed the wheel rim and created a weak area that burst. I inspected the other side caliber brake line and found that it was also rubbing the wheel rim and also had a worn area. This rubbing occured when the steering was turned all the way to the right or left.
Tl* the contact owns a 1997 Plymouth Breeze. While driving at various speeds, the contact heard a noise coming from rear wheel drum on the passenger side. While attempting to park, smoke emitted from the rear wheel causing a fire. The failure recurred three times. The fire was extinguished by the fire department and no police report was filed.the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the brake system needed to be replaced on the rear tire. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 58,000.
Multiple oil leaks and brake problems. Bought car with 14,000 miles, replaced front brakes and rotors at 19,000 miles, replaced cam seals at 32,000 miles, had new brakes again at 39,000 miles, and now at 49,500 having spark plug seals replaced. All major engine work done at newburgh park motors, newburgh ny. This car has cost me more in maintenance than my crappy 1979 GMC pick-up with a billion miles on it! The dealer just shrugs it off and says this is typical and it is the customer's responsibility. I say shame on Chrysler for manufacturing a sub-standard product and not standing behind it! You cowards!!!!!
I was coming home one evening from town, and my brakes failed to stop. The brake pedal went all the way to the floorboard and never once slowed me down and I crashed into another vehicle. It was a pretty bad wreck and luckily no one was seriously injured.
Brakes needed replacing 4 months after buying car. Dealer said was not under warranty. Had complete brake job on front 2 times, 1 on rear, cylinder replaced, shoes replaced, brakes still do not work properly, something comes loose if pressed suddenly causing car to slide and not stop. Pads have been replaced numerous times due to quick wear out. Accident could have been avoided if brakes worked properly. Car does not stop efficiently. Also, engine head gasket was replaced under warranty. Engine has been leaking oil again since 7/98. Dealer maintains that I will have to repair because out of warranty. Oil light does not work to warn when oil is low. Constantly adding oil to keep at proper level. Parking brake has been adjusted several times but does not stay long. Fuel gauge gives inaccurate reading. Appears to be empty when not. Air conditioner quit month before car accident in 8/99. …
