Continuation of a prior complaint (10908068). On 9/20/16, prior defective starfire rs-c 2.0 ultimate touring tire replaced with another similar starfire tire (u30h ldj) at pep boys. Paid $42.41 (tire handling charge, wheel balance, road hazard warranty, and valve stem). On 10/13/16 noticed new tire was flat/low, tire pressue was down to 18lbs; inflated to 34lbs. On 10/14 tire was flat again down to 19lbs. Used fix-a-flat type product and inflated to 34lbs, appears to be holding. Scheduling appt with pep boys to check tire and possibly reseal. Why is this happening to this tire brand? Is there a defect?

Hazard and turn signals intermittently fail; same as the 2001...there was a recall for this issued on the 2001, but not the 2002? I lose my turn signals approximately 2-3 times per 10 mile trip. I have not been involved in an accident due to this malfunction...yet. No repairs seem to fix the problem. The incident date is the last time this problem occurred (I haven't driven the car for a few days), but it has actually been going on for over 2 years. Apparently this is a common problem with the Alero's reguardless of the model year. The vehicle also won't start when it rains, and shuts down while driving. The trunk opens by itself, and the door locks don't always work. Sometimes the stereo won't turn on, and most recently the driver's door window won't open. I replaced the wheel house assembly 3 times in two years. This car is an electrical nightmare! …

The tires were defective. The tire pressure will not sustain. The tire pressure light stays on, and the consumer had to add air daily. The dealer refused to cooperate. The left front door body side was falling, the solder joints in the hazard warning flasher switch May crack, the coolant light had come on, there was an erratic sound when the ignition was first turned on, the driver window had a water leak, the left power window won't seal, the regulator was broken, and the key would get stuck in the ignition intermittently due to binding cylinder lock. I have written previously about my 2000 Oldsmobile Alero, clearly from the earliest of complaints which I share with other owners, GM does not care about the problems from brakes, tires, intake gaskets, windows braking, blower motors going, no dipsticks for transmission lines, I could go on and on, the message I receive is through the list of complaints you don't investigate and assist in finding a solution and GM/Oldsmobile could give a ?!@#$% about the junk they produced and made millions on at the lack of safety for consumers. I pray that Oldsmobile steps up and admits they made defaulted cars when it came to the Oldsmobile Alero, and while many of us have probably already paid the cars payments off, the lease they could do is offer a $10,000 rebate to purchase another car. Heck perhaps I should contact the attorney generals of each state and my own attorney for a possible lawsuit. …

I bought my Oldsmobile Alero new in July of 2000. Within a few months after purchase I started taking it back to the dealer due to a grinding noise that would happen when I was driving at slower speeds or turning. The dealer couldn't find anything wrong, but suggested I May need new brakes. I was not satisfied with this response since the car was less than one year old and I don't drive any more than the average driver. I then started taking it to a closer dealer (this one was a GM dealer and not specifically Oldsmobile). After several visits they told me my brake pads were worn down and needed replaced. By this point it was 2002 and my car had about 20,000 miles on it. I still wasn't sure I agreed with it, but I let them replace my brakes. Still heard the noise. I can't even count how many times my car has been to the two dealerships for the same grinding noise. …

Purchased the car in February'03. Bad vibration when driving at speeds over 45 MPH, tires rotated and balanced 4+ times, both front wheel bearing/hub kits replaced in less than 6 months after purchase, still occurs and have just grown accustomed to the shaking. Engine coolant leaks: replaced pump and "o" ring. Power steering pump and return hose replaced. Driver side window does not roll back up(believe dealership replaced prio to purchase). Driver side mirror motor has never worked properly, dealer(in rochester) put on receipt of last repair that they replaced motor, but didn't actually have part, but was on order. Never received a phone call back when or if part came in(dealership is over 300 miles from my home, purchased car on the internet).
