While driving, I was going about 25mph, but was coming to an intersection. Before getting to the intersection the light was blinking yellow due to the time so i started to slow down so i could yield through the light. At this time, my son who was 3yrs 2mo old (at the time) was in the backseat in his carseat. As I gradually stepped on the brake pedal, I then felt a big slam, and my face smacked the airbag and dust flew all over my vehicle, and son in the backseat who didnt have an airbag deploy. As I came to realize what happened my son was in the backseat screaming and i had smoke coming from my hood. I hit a city light pole outside of a 7-Eleven store. I was unsure of what happened that caused the accident, but after it happened I got out of my car in complete shock of what hit me. …

Due to rust corrosion on the underneath frame and carriage of this vehicle, the control arm on both sides has snapped out of place. This has affected my steering capabilities. It also almost caused a serious accident on the highway. I am lucky to be alive. The vehicle is with my mechanic and I will include as many pictures as I can. The recall states that the undercarriage of the vehicle May have unnecessary rust and unfortunately my pin number has been involved. The rust corrosion is so severe that the frame is literally rotting completely out. There is holes you can see through all over the frame of this vehicle. I feel as though Nissan not only put my immediate life in danger but also many other drivers on the road as well. I was in the air force and they are reactivating me back into service due to the covid. …

While my daughter was pulling out of a parking lot onto the street, the steering suddenly locked. This has happened a few times before. The car had stalling issues and would occur when the car stalled, but this time and several other times the car did not stall. This is very dangerous and I have seen many of the same complaints online friom other drivers. I can't believe no action has been taken on this issue.

Vehicle intermittently starting making thumping sound and resistance squeaking when turning right at 28K miles. Would only do so when warmed up. At approximately 36K became progressively worse. Fear there will be a near future steering loss due to defective steering in this vehicle. Expect problem with steering assembly. Purchased car new in 2009 from another Nissan dealer. Local Nissan service oiled on 3 aug 12. Worked for a few days and now is much worse. Nissan north America gave claim number, but will not provide assistance. I read online this is likely a manufacturer defect and should be a full recall. Local Nissan dealer claims they are not aware and told me I would be required to pay $400 or more to fix. Car recently went out of warranty at 36K and issue was known prior to expiration and reported. …

On or about March 26th 2009 I reported a complaint to the local Nissan service department about a clunking and knocking noise in the front end of the car and felt in the steering wheel, the vehicle had less than 32,000 miles at the time. This was not my first attempt to get this issue looked at, but it was the first time they acknowledged a problem. After at least 6 trips to the service department for repair attempts, struts, strut mounts, strut bearings on the left and right side, the problem would not go away. They eventually placed large metal washers between the sub frame and cross brace support because they stated that the sub frame bushings had sagged, or where improperly installed at the manufacturer. Now the steering feels loose and the only way I can describe it is it feels as if the steering column is separating when taking turns over uneven road surfaces.

Tl contact owns a 2007 Nissan Versa. While driving approximately 60-70 MPH, the vehicle veers to the left. When decelerating, the vehicle veers to the right and feels as if it will spin out. The contact has scheduled an appointment at the dealer for June 29, 2007. The powertrain was unknown. The current and failure mileages were 30. The consumer stated took the vehicle to cerrito's and the mechanic test drove the vehicle and stated there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. The foreman stated it could be steering but since it is electric and does not have power steering. She does not know if that is the reason the vehicle is veering to either the right or left. The consumer stated feels unsafe driving the vehicle and provided emails from other consumers with the same defect. The consumer also provided a copy of the repair invoice. Updated 07/31/07
