The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH, a gunshot-like sound came from the vehicle. The contact stated that upon pulling back the sunroof shade, several glass pieces fell from the sunroof. The vehicle was initially taken to an independent mechanic where the contact was informed that the independent mechanic could not repair the sunroof. The vehicle was then taken to a Nissan dealer who then referred the contact to a Chevrolet dealer. The vehicle was taken to Monument Chevrolet (3940 Pasadena Fwy, Pasadena, TX 77503), and the contact was informed that the part to repair the vehicle would be a ten-year-old sunroof found at a junkyard. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 46,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Altima. The contact stated the door panels, and the sunroof was leaking water and the floor panel would be drenched with water. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the sunroof drain to be drained. The vehicle was repaired but continued to experience the failure. The contact had the vehicle repaired a third time. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
Fatally flawed Nissan headlight assembly. The dim low-beam headlights of my 2015 Nissan Altima have been the subject of a class action lawsuit against Nissan. They may or may not have been the subject of a proposed or actual recall. My dealer is now telling me that I missed some deadline under an "inspection recall." Apparently to confirm whether my headlights are dim or not. My vehicle was in a Nissan service center for other repairs in Jan of 2018 and again in June of 2021, they ran my VIN number. They should have told me there was some arbitrary deadline to meet to fix their fatally flawed headlight assembly. Someone at Nissan consumer affairs tells me that my VIN number isn't included in the lawsuit/recall. This is irrelevant. My headlights are certainly UNSAFELY DIM. My 17 yr old Toyota and 19 yr old dodge both have brighter headlights than my 7 yr old Nissan. …
While driving at night in a poorly lit area, I could barely see. I turned on the high beam but it blinded on coming traffic. I checked into this and found out Nissan was sued for this and had a short (approximately 3 months) period when you could get it fixed for free from the dealership. No recall issued even though Nissan was well aware of this. But when I tried to get it fixed, the dealership did not have the parts. There is only one dealership in Sacramento, so by the time I could get back with them, this repair window was closed. I think this was too short of a repair time for such a safety hazard.
Since I bought my 2015 Nissan Altima, the low-beam headlights have been dangerously dim. I stopped driving at night as I almost hit pedestrians. I'm jeopardizing my safety and others on the road. Installing a new headlight did not change visibility and the Nissan dealership inspected the problem and recommended an "Aftermarket" headlight assembly. There are no warning symptoms or signs of this problem and the vehicle is still equipped with its original headlight housing.
Received recall for dim headlights. 2016. Took to dealer for repair as it said. They did not have parts said to check back later. Called several times same story. Have since been in for service and get same story. Regular headlights so dim have to drive with bright lights on in dark. A safety hazard for sure in country.
Both Sun Visors have failed. They no longer hold their positions. They just droop at random. I consider this a real safety issue for the driver because the visor can droop at any time and I pair the driver's vision.
Bought this car less than three months ago... On Friday February 12th 2016, I parked my car in the garage when I got home from work... Then on Saturday the 13th, I went in the garage and there was a massive crack starting just a few inches above the bottom right (passenger side) and extending over 12 inches toward the center. There was absolutely no reason for this to occur! I am so upset! I have gone out of my way to take extra extra extra great care of my new car and then this crack came out of nowhere! I took it to the dealers a few days ago and they said they can't cover it... I've researched this a ton and will be filing complaints everywhere until I get this resolved. This was literally the most random/heart breaking this ever ! There is no reason why this should have happened. I am so upset with Nissan and fully regret deciding to purchase an Altima! …
While driving 65 MPH on the freeway when my sun roof exploded a very loud boom.glass flew outward causing the glass to scratch the roof and trunk. Went to Nissan dealership and talked to manger and explain what happened. He told me I could not prove that it was a manufacturer defect. There was nobody around me at the time of explosion it also was not hot. It was at 9:00 am in the morning and was 68 degrees. My car is garage kept. This week our local news station had a segment about sun roofs exploding on nissans with over 100 reports of the very same thing that happened to my car. I was told by Nissan to file a claim on my insurance and pay my 500.00 dollar deductible. I feel that this was a manufacturer defect and should be investigated. I am upset that Nissan dismissed me knowing they already been having complaints on this same problem.
The plastic hanging rod of driver side sun visor was broken and dropped while driving, blocking the view of driver. I was surprised to find out the hanging rod is made of plastic, since the visor needs to be inserted back to position with force and is used on daily basis. After online search, I have realized this problem is common for Nissan brand. The dealership asks more than $200 plus tax for this part. I have a prefered gold extended warranty, which does not cover this defective part. My car is 2015 model. How can a manufacturer use a plastic for a hanging rod , because it is hidden underneath the fabric of the visor? It is a fraudulent design using a plastic, which can not sustain the force and destined for failure. It is a safety issue, since it failed while I was driving and dropped in front of me, blocking my view of road.
