Car has only been driven just under 6 months with no abuse and with just at 10,000 miles the clutch failed. The dealer and manufacturer claim wear item. If the car had 40,00 or more miles I might accept, but they built a can with an engine that produces over 300 ft.lbs. Of torque, and apparently installed a clutch and pressure plate that does not have adequate clamping and holding abilities for the engine in the car. The are claiming wear item and want approximately $2,000.00 for the repair of what I believe to be a defective or intentionally insufficient part to properly contain the output of the cars engine and are passing the cost on to the buyers. These are also not entry level cars and are advertised as high power, performance cars. Clutch began slipping while driving thereby creating an unsafe operating condition. …
All wheel drive not working. Failed while driving in the snow, slippery conditions. There is a service bulletin on this. The AWD center diff pump is mounted behind the rear tire where debris is continually present. Replacing the pump is not a permanent fix.
On 09/15/2018 at roughly 11:30 am while operating my 2014 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution x with 32,[redacted] miles I experienced a loss of power, increased exhaust noise and the illumination of powertrain fault lights on the instrument cluster. After pulling off the roadway to inspect the issue a small engine bay fire had been found (chard paint/insulation and a still smoldering wiring harness). After ensuring that the fire was out and safe the vehicle was brought to the dealership that it had been purchased from (mangino Mitsubishi of clifton park) and dropped off. The car is useless in its current state and had to be tow from the dealership to a storage facility where it has been ever since. But I refuse to report the damages to my insurance because I should not have to cover damages caused by bolts that were installed improperly at the factory. …
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. The contact stated that when the clutch pedal was depressed, an abnormal clicking sound emitted from the vehicle. The contact inspected the vehicle and discovered that brake fluid was leaking inside the vehicle onto the floor board. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure and the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 13V446000 (power train). The failure mileage was 46,000. The VIN was not available.
Acd/ayc pump has completely stop working in my vehicle. I took my vehicle to be service and the person who was doing the service on my car told me that the acd/ayc pump has gone out and I need a replacement. I found that weird, because I have not driven my car for roughly about a month and for an issue to pop up was very weird. After doing research, I seems that multiple people have the same issue were these pumps go out unexpected. There are only 1400-1600 of these cars made year in the states and to see many people have this problem in the U.S. And around the world mind boggling to many of us. Mitsubishi needs to find another solution or remedy to this issue. Since I live in the south, my local dealership is not wanting to cover this and I travel along the east coast with my car.
My car began to have a flashing active yaw control light on the instrument panel. It was determined that ayc/acd pump was failing due to severe corrosion. When this happens, the AWD stops functioning, so the car is now in two wheel drive mode. Mitsubishi mounted the ayc pump in the rear fenderwell area where it is openly exposed to the winter elements such as snow, salt and sand. This is a very well known problem and the dealer I went to has done about 6 cars in the last month or so just for this problem. The car was taken to a local Mitsubishi dealer for warranty repair. The dealer was very helpful and was going to replace the pump under warranty, but when was denied the request due to the fact that the engine had had a "tune" on it. So, the pump will have to be repaired at cost to myself. The reason I am bringing this to your attention is because this is a very apparent design flaw. …
On-dash warning light of "4wd system service required" came on. This warning is indicative of a active center differential (acd) pump failure, generally due to corrosion from treated winter road surfaces and/or the inability to handle cold-weather climates. Car was previously serviced under a technical service bulletin (TSB) to delay activation of the acd pump for this exact reason 2 years prior to failure. Mitsubishi has yet to correct this manufacturing defect and is currently refusing to honor warranty service of failed pumps under their 5-year / 36,000-mile powertrain warranty, stating that the pump is not required for the vehicle to operate safely and properly. …
Bad injector caused cylinder failure or valvr constant valve tick. Blown spark plugs caused piston meltdown causing for the pistong rod to shoot throught the block cause a fire to the engine.. Luckly I stop the fire took it to a delaership to verify the cause of the damage but the technicinas told me that theres nothing they could do because the battery die there for it reset the computer module erasing all the data with the probable cause and nothing was done after that.. Bought a new engine and now after 20,000 miles I get the same issue but Mitsubishi dose not wanna be resposible for a replace engine to which they replace.
