The braking system would intermittently engage at all speeds after driving for 20 to 30 minutes. The dealership service was unable to locate the problem during 2 prior service visits. At the beginning this would simply create a drag effect, but during the latest instance that occurred at highway speeds, the friction created enough heat to elicit a burning smell, and when the vehicle was slowed it stopped abrubtly from 20 MPH, locking up the brakes. It took over an hour for the brakes to cool to the point where they would release.
The sliding door opens while driving even after slamming shut. Consumer states this has happened several times over a 2 week period, while driving down the road, usually after reaching 40 MPH the door would just unlatch, also left tyrn signal doesnot work, brakes were replaced, rear glass wiper wiper had to be replaced, most of the power locks had to be repaired, and the rear hatch latch had to be replaced, right rear brake light had to be repaired, also rear bench seat and the automatic seat belts have beeninspected.
Very strong smelling gas fumes inside passenger compartment when heater is turned on. While driving the speed gauge will stop working and the check engine light will come on. Brakes make a grinding noise even after being replaced. Cv boot is leaking and cracked. Driver side auto-seat belt sometimes fails to go up and down. Rear windshield wiper gets stuck in up positions when tring to use it.
Weeks after purchase, fuel pump began to howl loudly and at times acted like it was shuting down but was OK per dealer. Motor failed caused by "lack" of lubricating holes in block per the dealer, was replaced two weeks later the motor stumbled and shutdown again but restarted 1 hour later. Rear brakes grind loudly and squeks while driving. Told nothing wrong but it continues.
Notch worn into the sliding surface on steering knuckle for front brake pads preventing the outer pad from sliding and self adjusting causing outer pads to remain stationery and create loud grinding noise and antilock brakes to malfunction dealer stated that this is common, this sliding surface should be a non wear surface and last the life of the car with no wear.
When it is cold outside automobile will not keep running after it is put in gear. When it is finally in gear, it has no power. Front brakes are noisy, belts replaced, vehicle screeches when running. Despite replacements and repairs for all these problems, they still exist.
When coming to stop on incline, there is a high pitch squeak/groan noise, brake pedal drops to floor, vehicle moves forward until shifted to park/applied emergency brakes; intermittent. Dealer could not duplicate, replaced master cylinder.
When driving the brakes don't come on and when turning on the headligh don't come on. Consumer had brake lights fixed five times, and the right side works whenever it wants to. The dealer can't determine the problem.
ABS brake failure, applied the brakes on wet surface, pedal went the floor, impact 12:00 position speed 8mph, hitting a concrete post.
