While driving to work on 12-09-2000, with heater on, became very disoriented, hit concrete barrier, arrived 2 hours late to work, was taken by ambulance to hospital,, my co-workers will confirm that I could not talk or walk properly, was very confused, checked out by neurologists, all tests results normal, said it could have been co2 or other fumes or odors inside car that made me sick. And totaly disoriented, by the grace of god, it was a miracle I was not killed while driving in this state. Due to odors inside my Mercury 2000 Mystique.
The air conditioning has failed twice in two years in a 2000 Mercury Mystique gs. While often considered a luxury rather than a safety item, I live in south florida were it is already reached 95 degrees. Last year a device in the dash had to be repaired. The mechanic said that this was a common problem with this model but that the company wasn't issuing a recall because not enough people complain. The new problem appears to be the air conditioning freezing up or with the blendor; the A/C is cold but barely blows, even when on high.
Heater did not work properly. Vehicle was taken to dealer, and the blower switch was replaced. Also, consumer heard a loud squealing sound when depressing the brakes. Rotors were replaced on both sides of the vehicle. The dashboard began to rise up from the dashboard mount. Dealer had not yet resolved the dashboard problem. Manufacturer would be informed of the myriad of problems consumer was having.
My 1999 Mercury mystiques dash board has completely warped. It has rendered the defroster useless. I was not informed of any recall for the defect. I now understand that the Lincoln/Mercury company did acknowledge a defect in the dashboards. What remedy can I expect ?
Tl contact owns a 1998 Mercury Mystique. The contact took her vehicle to a mechanic because the blower motor resistor failed. The mechanic stated that her fuse box melted, which caused the blower motor to fail. She called the manufacturer and a representative stated that her VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign id number 01V230000 (electrical system), although the failures were identical. The contact would be responsible for the repair costs. She is in the process of having the vehicle repaired. The failure and current mileages were 114,708.
No turn signals, one brake light and tail light, one headlight on driver side. Replaced all bulbs still no lights. Relay on driver's side window went out. Tires wear constantly. Tail lights flood as does front floorboard must park car flat when it rains to keep from being flooded out of car. Sunroof motor shot. Had recall on heater done and now when it rains I have problems with heater. Replaced senors and check engine light still on. Car has been stuck in park before had to have mechanic come to house to fix. Must repace rotors on car @ every 6 months. Car makes a clicking noise in the dash ( no idea what that is) headlights are foggy as well. Car is costing us a fortune. When I asked the dealership to fix all the recalls they told me the time had run out and sorry.
To whom it May concern, I have tried to get the air conditioner in my car fixed 6 separate occasion each about 2 months apart and I live in texas so an air conditioner is a must. I have spent 249.00 each time to get the problem fixed and would like to know what I should do, I was told this was a very reliable car but it had a problem with the air conditioner when I bought it. The saleman that sold me the car, jim honeycutt, said that all I needed to do was take it to a shop to get the blower fixed at the lockhart Ford motor co. Which I have done 6 times. Can anyone help me withthis, so I don't get ripped off anymore. Nlm
Dt: the contact states there is a NHTSA recall campaign 99V103000 concerning the exterior lighting.: headlights. This vehicle has the same problems as indicated in the recall, but it is not included in the recall due to VIN. No repairs have been made due to the expense. Updated 01/19/06.
