My 2007 c230 has a problem with the smell of gasoline when you fill up. I have seen alot of complaints about the gas tank and its system on line. An when I talked to medcedes I was told they have had alot of issues with the mercedes in the past and that issue. They replaced alot of them at one time I dont know which model. I have seen alot of people with my style of mercedes with similiar issues. This type of thing should be taken care of by the dealer.

My Mercedes Benz C230 kompressor started having problems at 4400 miles, it has a hesitation problem. It now has 42,000 miles and still has hesitation. Its been in the shop 7 times for the same situation. They tried to blame it on water in the fuel, but it continues to have the same issue. Over the seven attempts to repair my vehicle, the problems still persists. The hesitation is consisted of stopping and going, jerking the vehicle when transmission from gear to gear. Its a fuel related problem. My fiance and I have been in to many close calls with accidents. The scare of my car is if I really need to avoid being in a accident with swerving, will I have the ability to do that? Right now I don't. …

I recently noticed the smell of gas on this vehicle or of gas coming from my rear seat. I took it to a mechanic shop and he stated that the gas tank had a leak on top somewhere. He stated that this is a pretty common problem in these Mercedes. My kids travel vehicle travel with. They end up with really bad headaches. The fuel tank will only fill to 3/4 and the vehicle has an odor of gasoline inside and outside the vehicle when attempting to fill the tank. The vehicle was brought to Mercedes Benz for service for this issue and they state they do not know how to fix it and having spent approximately $1.000 for Mercedes to try and diagnose the problem they advised they don't know how to fix. I have noted a recall for fuel leak probe on Mercedes 2003-2008 e class models that has now been closed after Mercedes has agreed to fix the issue. I contacted Mercedes north America and they state the issue on my c class is not related to that recall and there is nothing they can do for me. The mileage on my vehicle is very low and this seems to be the same problem that occurred in my c-class that they refuse to fix.

Hesitation (jerking) upon acceleration, usually during turns or while in heavy traffic. This has been an ongoing problem since purchase of vehicle (new). I have taken it in for repair for this problem no less than seven (7) times, but the problem still remains. There is also a popping noise coming from the exhaust system that occurs when the brake is engaged and the vehicle is idling. Attempts to fix these problems consists of the following: charcoal canister shut off valve replacement, leak in coductor sleeve repaired, performed adaptation of the torque converter, flushed automatic transmission and torque converter, replaced torque converter, and installed restrictor in the purge line. Additionally, the original tires on the vehicle have been very problematic. I had a blow out on the right rear tire @ 14,190 miles. I then replaced both rear tires. …
