Automatic transmission › Gear position indication (PRNDL) · 45,000 miles · Jun 2021

At 70000 miles the transmission just got stuck into a single gear in manual. I drove it home and the check engine light came on. Before this problem the car would not go into park. Every time I put it into park I was unable to turn off the car because it thought it was still in gear. I had to fiddle the gear stick. The car also made a high pitch click (metallic) when shifting into 1st or Reverse from park. I took it to Capitol Mazada San Jose and they charged me $7000 to fix some transmission problem. I took it home and the clicking noise did not go away. I took it back to the dealer and they redid some work.

Brakes

I was at a doctor's office and their parking lot has a large slope. I parked facing up the slope and applied the parking brake. When I exited the vehicle, I felt the vehicle slowly sliding backwards. I pushed rearward on the car to check if the brakes were holding which accelerated the roll. I jumped back in the vehicle and depressed the brake pedal to stop the roll. I replaced the rear brake pads and noticed extremely uneven wear. Additionally, the left-rear caliper parking brake actuator was bound-up and wouldn't function. I exercised the actuator to loosen it up a bit which should be just enough until I can order the part. I experienced this same issue with my parking brake in 2017. In 2017, I took the car to the dealer who replace the rear brake calipers under recall 17V393000. …
