What owners report
Tl* the contact owns a 2005 Lincoln Town Car. While attempting to slow down, the brake pedal failed to respond and the engine began to rev without warning. The contact mentioned that an abnormal noise was heard coming from the rear driver side tire before the brakes became operable. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed, but the cause of the failure was not determined. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 67,000.
I was driving a 05 Lincoln towncar when the right rear sidewall blew out. It totaled the Car, my husband broke his arm and has two plates, 12 screws and a bone graft. He is still under a dr.'s care. I have spoken to several people that have had the same thing happen but with no damage or anyone being hurt. Something needs to be done before people are killed. If it was not for our heavy Car we both would have been killed. These tires were new with a little over 5000 miles on them.
Michelin radial sxe, p225/60r17. Due to the condition of the blown tire, the dot# was unavailable when the complaint was given. The right rear tire blew out while the renter was driving on a clear day at approximately 55 MPH. The sidewall was damaged due to the blowout. Driver could not control vehicle. Vehicle hit mail box, crossed road and ran backwards into a ditch. The right rear tire blew out but all other tires were still inflated.
On June 20 2012 I purchased 4 Goodyear viva authority tires 225/70/16.on April 24 2014 I noticed I was losing air on my front left tire! I went to walmart# 01698 in hooksett,n.h.,and was told my tire had dry rotted, the outside sidewall looked fine, the inside sidewall however looked like it was about to split in two,the manager said there was no evidence of an impact and the tire was pro-rated. The manager also informed me the other tires, all bought on 6/20/12,showed evidence of dry rot,but since they had not yet failed, there was nothing they could do.
I have had to replace wheel bearing and axle every few months because of premature wear and causing driving to be a safety concern. Once it wears thin, the car shakes and wobbles and the tire almost snapped off twice.
Item = Goodyear viva tires; 2015, 1 at a time, vibrations has gotten worse, bought new 4 new rotors, problem still the same. ///// also bought a van with all viva tires, and it has the same exact problem.
On wipers the intermediate dont work and when washer fluid sprayed cant shut wipers off 2 now on wheels constantly loosing air due to rims peeling and the inside rims are peeling causing tire not to hold air and 3 front end wobbles and raddles had new tierods and ball joints wondering if any recalls were due to be done and previous owner neglected to get done please help
New delta sierra dial tires purchased 06-04-04 for professional delivery vehicle. At 4,644 miles right rear tire tread totally separated while in route with client on freeway causing loss of control of vehicle, blowout, and extensive damage (approx $4,000.00) to livery vehicle. Yokohama tire corp asked for tire and denied liability although offered "good will" offer of $2,000 within days. Product liability manager anne stott indicated a road hazard caused separation, not defect, and said a rock the size of her hand could have caused this. Husband kevin burns is only driver of vehicle and never recalled any such hazard or incident. His driving record is impeccable (over 35 years, professional driver total of 12 years) and kevin takes exceptional care of his vehicles. If only a rock like ms. …
