While driving the air bag warning light continuously illuminated on the dashboard. As a result, air bags were inoperative and wouldn't deploy when needed, per dealership. The dealership replaced every air bag component, but the problem still existed. The right front headlight held moisture and the fog light held water. The dealer replaced the headlights and fog lights. The bulb for the left side fog light burned out. The left seat was loose. The dealer replaced the clips on the back of the seat. The driver's side front door wouldn't open front he inside. The dealer replaced the handle. The check engine light illuminated and the engine stalled while the vehicle was stopped. The dealer replaced the intake hose. The engine made noise. The dealer replaced the mass air flow sensor. The passenger's side front power window was inoperative. The dealer replaced the window regulator. …
The interior rear-view mirror burst and leaked liquid inside the car while it was being driven. The liquid etched holes in the console and around the shifter. According to the Jaguar owners website, this liquid is toxic. There are numerous complaints regarding this mirror made by magna donnelly, model 011530. Magna donnelly went bankrupt and sybesma electronics is handling further sale of these mirrors. This model of mirror was installed in lincolns, Ford 150s, Jaguar, Acura, Chrysler sebrings and other vehicles and there are reported instances of them "exploding," leaking and cracking. I replaced the mirror with an older design, but believe there are many more of these mirrors still in use. After all, Ford denies there has been a problem with them, despite Jaguar having issued a recall, according to information on the Jaguar owners website.
Dt: the contact owns a 2000 Lincoln LS. The air bag warning light first began to blink, and it is now staying on all the time. The dealership told the contact that this was what the air bag warning light did. The problem with the light first began about one month ago. Updated 11/16/2005 - the right rear windoe would not come back up. The dealer had to replace the window regulator assembly because it had broken.
Rear power window regulator, with failure history known to dealer, failed just outside warranty period. Despite their prior knowledge of recurring problem with this model, they did not advise or recommend upgraded equipment/repair until unit failed. Also refused to replace left rear unit despite anticipated failure. Refused to provide copy of technical service bulletin in their possession.
Regarding 2000 Lincoln LS 6 cyl. Within a period of one year I had 3 windows in the vehicle fail, both at the back and the other at the passenger window, which was the latest on 10/27/03. In all three, the regulator assembly and the cable have failed. Ford has told me that there have not been any recalls issued regarding this occurrence.
The driver side door handle will not allow the consumer to exit the vehicle. The dealer repaired the problem once, but six weeks later the problem recurred. Also the rear right electric window fell inside of the door and will not roll up. The manufacturer is not aware of the problems.
Power windows drop down intrmittently. Dealer has replaced regulator for all 4 windows. Did not remedy the problem. Consumer states dealer will not replace until relay switch(s) have failed. In a separate occasion, the front end of the vehicle vibrates when driving beteen 58-75 MPH. Getting worst at higher speed. Tires were balanced, but vibration still exist.
Power window system for 2000 Lincoln LS is defective. On or about August 2006, the power window system of the right passenger side became inoperable. Shortly thereafter, in November of 2006, the power window system of the left passenger side also became inoperable. Subsequently, I've learned that there are numerous complaints for this very same issue.
While driving, windshield wipers quit working and both washer came off causing wiper fluid to spray onto the windshield causing zero visibility, wiper delays were inoperative and the push button control did not release any fluid, on the way home the washers periodically sprayed fluid on their own, dealer is going to replace the wiper switch.
All four windows on my 2000 Lincoln LS have failed and crashed into the door well. The rear windows have failed twice. Lincoln said that they have no record of this problem and refuses to comp for the repair costs.
