While driving with the vehicle on cruise control, the vehicle went from 75 MPH to 0 on the interstate. I was able to coast into a nearby rest area. At this point the car would start, but none of the systems would operate. The dash displayed several system failures to include the Hybrid system, check engine, pre-collision system, braking system and all-wheel drive system. This is a brand new vehicle purchased from a Lexus dealership. The milage at the time of breakdown was only 883 miles. The dealership labeled this event as a catastrophic failure, but I have received no valid explanation as to what happened to the vehicle.
About 15 miles into my drive to work in my 2015 Lexus RX 450h with only 6,300 miles, my dash panel indicated the following errors: check ABS, check BSM system, check headlight leveling system, brake malfunction, check Hybrid system, check power steering system, speedometer at 0 MPH and every possible error light possible. As I attempted to slow down from 65 MPH on the interstate 5, I noticed I was experiencing complete brake failure and were not functioning properly. With aggressive force, I was able to engage the brakes but noticed an extremely loud metal on metal sound when doing so. In order to come to a stop, I exited at the first off-ramp possible, and popped the curve so I could park the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to Lexus of glendale where they were able to see all the error codes but were unable to repair the issue since they were unable to duplicate it. …
Braking system of the car failed. I could not stop the car and all the warning lights, engine warning lights, check Hybrid system, and vehicle warning lights appeared on the dashboard of the car. The car was purchased new with 71 miles, the car was never in an accident, the car had nothing installed to it, the car was serviced by Lexus for 10,000 mile oil change, and the car had 14693 miles when the braking system failed on August 7, 2017. The car was driven on a sunny day on dry flat asphalt road in chicago illinois. The braking system failure occurred at foster avenue and california avenue. Once all the warning lights appeared on the dashboard as listed above, the brakes in the car started to pump up and down every second by itself. The car was unable to stop as I forcefully stepped on the brakes. …
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 Lexus rx450h. The contact stated while the brake pedal was applied, the brakes locked up and became difficult to stop the vehicle. The brake system warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to keyes Lexus (5905 van nuys blvd, van nuys, ca 91401, [phone]) where it was diagnosed that the brake actuator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the mechanic was informed that the brake actuator needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was contacted but, no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 83,000.
Brake actuator needs replaced. Car has only 65,000 miles many people are complaining about the actuator not stopping the vehicle according to manufacture standards. As well I personally have issues when at low speeds the brakes make a squeak. When diagnosed at the dealer the dealer noted that this is an an issue with brake actuator and needs replaced. Which is a very common problem.
The contact owns a 2011 Lexus RX450H. The contact stated that while her husband was driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to stop immediately. The ABS warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic; however, the vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the vehicle warranty had expired. The failure mileage was approximately 121,000.
I was pulling into a driveway after I fully stopped my car ( I was waiting for another car to pull out of driveway first). When I braked to stop my car it did not respond initially. I could not stop it fast enough to avoid collision w a parked car in driveway. This was so strange because I was moving my car very slowly. I then put it in reverse to back up a couple feet so I could assess damage to cars. When I did this and pressed the accelerator my car accelerated out of control into street. Once again the braking was insufficient to stop my car as desired. Normally the brakes stop this car on a dime (not really on a dime, but normally the brakes are excellent). The later acceleration was witnessed by the owner of the now rear-ended car in driveway. No damage to my car other than to my license plate. No one was injured. There was damage to the parked car in driveway. …
