What 2006 Land Rover Range Rover owners say
Electrical system
Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2006 Land Rover Range Rover. It was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 79,500, and at the time of registration, it was discovered that the mileage was 222,121.
Fuel pump power and fuel level sensor electrical connector has undersized pins and sockets in the 4.4L and 4.2L engine equiped full sized range rovers from 06-09. The connector located on top of the fuel filter assembly on top of the fuel tank overheats and melts the plastic surrounding the copper feedthru pins connecting the fuel pump to the fuel pump relay. The pins passing thru the male portion of the connector on the fuel filter appears to be undersized. I've had three fuel pumps fail, at least one of which required the entire connector to be replaced on the vehicle (by me).
Transmission & drivetrain
My 2006 Range Rover rolls away while shifted into Park. This matches the exact defect of Land Rover Recall B023 / NHTSA Campaign 05V502000, but Land Rover tells me my VIN is excluded. The original recall parameters were too narrow and missed my vehicle.
While driving on gwb, I suddenly felt like the underneath of the car had gotten stuck on something & then the car came to a sudden stop, leading to the car behind me hitting my bumper. My mechanic told me it was my front differential & was not covered in my vehicle's year recall.
Brakes
There is a recall on my front brake lines. The recall number is 15v-039. I had my brake lines replaced prior to the recall being issued. The recall states that the manufacturer will replace the brake lines for free or reimburse me if I had the lines done prior to the recall. I presented a receipt for the repair and the dealer in little rock is refusing to reimburse me. They stated that the repair must be performed by an authorized Land Rover dealer using Land Rover parts. I had the repair performed using Land Rover parts, however I did not take it to a dealer. My mechanic worked for this dealership for several years and is an authorized Land Rover mechanic when he left. I view this as an attempt to try and not pay me and I don't think it is reasonable or fair. I would sincerely appreciate some assistance!
