I am reporting a life-safety defect incident and an illegal vehicle delivery. I purchased a 2027 Kia Telluride HEV subject to Recall SC366 (NHTSA Campaign 26V173000). The dealership delivered the vehicle on April 22, 2026, explicitly stating that the recall service was complete and the vehicle was safe. This was a material misrepresentation. Shortly after delivery, I suffered a physical entrapment incident where the second-row power seat mechanism failed to detect my leg as an obstruction and continued to fold with force, pinning my leg. This is the exact failure described in the recall notice. Following this incident, the dealership called to admit that they never actually performed the required safety fix. By delivering this vehicle, the dealership violated 49 U.S.C. 30112, which prohibits the delivery of a new vehicle with an open safety recall. The defect is active and dangerous. …
"While driving, my KIA Telluride 2027 hybrid sx prestige, the vehicle intermittently detects an occupant in an empty second-row passenger captain's chair and activates the rear seat-belt warning and audible chime. There is no person or object on the seat. I have video documenting the instrument cluster showing the affected seat during the event. The vehicle was inspected by the Kia dealership; no diagnostic trouble code was found and the dealership was unable to reproduce the problem. The problem remains unresolved."
I own a 2025 Kia Telluride SX X-Line with that is currently under safety recall (NHTSA #26V105, Kia Recall SC362A) involving both front seatbacks. The recall states that there is a safety issue, but there is no remedy available at this time. I contacted Kia Corporate regarding this issue and was assigned case number [redacted]. I spoke with two separate representatives and was told that there is nothing they can do, even if the case is escalated. During my second call, the representative disconnected the call while I was still asking questions about the safety risks of driving the vehicle with my family. This recall involves structural seat safety, which directly impacts occupant protection in the event of a crash. I regularly transport children in this vehicle and do not feel safe continuing to drive it without knowing the extent of the risk or having any interim solution. …
My 2025 Kia Telluride is subject to safety recall SC362A / NHTSA Recall 26V105 involving the front seatback assemblies. On March 24, 2026, I left the vehicle with an authorized Kia dealer for the recall repair. The dealer documented "REMEDY NOT AVAIL" and also documented that the vehicle would remain at the dealer until the recall was performed. As of September 14, 2026, the vehicle remains unrepaired and NHTSA's VIN recall lookup still shows this recall as unrepaired. The vehicle has therefore been unavailable for approximately 174 days because Kia has not provided and completed the recall remedy. I am requesting that NHTSA review Kia's failure to provide this safety recall remedy within a reasonable period of time

VIN: [redacted] Owner: [redacted] Purchase Date: December 2022 I am filing an urgent safety complaint regarding my 2023 Kia Telluride. For nearly two years, I have unknowingly driven this vehicle with multiple active safety recalls, including: Airbag wiring harness defect (airbags may not deploy) Seatbelt pretensioner/tensioner defects Front power seat motor overheating (fire hazard) Driveshaft engagement defect (vehicle may roll out of Park) Kia never properly notified me of these recalls and never repaired them, despite my family using the vehicle daily. I drove this SUV with my autistic child and infant grandchild, believing it was safe. I have now discovered that Kia allowed me to operate a vehicle that could: Fail to protect us in a crash Catch fire Roll away unexpectedly Malfunction in ways that could cause severe injury or death This is a serious safety negligence issue. …
