The contact owns a 2017 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated on several occasions while driving at various speeds with the accelerator pedal depressed, the vehicle would not accelerate properly. The vehicle was veered to the side of the road and restarted after waiting a few minutes each time. On several occasions while driving at various speeds the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was able to restart after waiting for a few minutes. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. It began with vehicle warning lights, several, illuminating. They did not illuminate at exactly the same time (such as when a car stalls) they illuminated consecutively i.e Airbag disabled, followed by, blind spot sensors unavailable, front collision, lane departure, power steering temporarily unavailable, park assist, lane departure... all unavailable. Finally, the check engine light. Driving 65 mph until the transmission decided to no longer shift properly, which resulted in driving 45 in an 70 mph zone. Turned off vehicle and restarted, it was fine for 50 miles and began the dashboard light show again, followed by almost stalling at a toll booth. It has been "repaired" 3 times in 3 months, by Chrysler Jeep . Including a new BCM. I believe this 2017 Renegade either was not recalled during the original recall in 2017 or 2018, was not repaired, or was repaired improperly. …
The Jeep will not accelerate as expected, it may have to do with the throttle bottle. This lack of acceleration or hesitation while accelerating, can lead to unsafe driving conditions. Under normal driving conditions, I need to be able to accelerate to pass a car, to merge onto the freeway, and be able to handle stop and go traffic without hesitation. I am afraid I may cause an accident if I continue to drive the Jeep. I will be biking as much as possible to avoid driving it in this condition. The dealer performed a diagnostic and admitted there was a problem, but I was told there was no know "fix" for it at the time. No one else has inspected the JEEP. There have been no warning lights at all.
My 2017 Jeep Renegade is at a dealership for the third time. When I am accelerating at around 29 MPH, there is a sudden jerk. It also occurs around 53 MPH. It startles me every time this event occurs. Each time, I pay a deductible and the problem isn't fixed. Retirement isn't conducive to $500 repair bills. Can you help? This is definitely a problem with this model and needs to be rectified.
Just purchased this Jeep August 31, 2022. This is the 2nd time that while driving the vehicle suddenly shows very high RPM and will barely move. Could the previous repair to the engine recall have failed? I have an appointment to take the vehicle for service again. The first time the dealership said they did updates to fix the problem.
I was on the expressway and all of a sudden I couldn't accelerate. The engine completed died. I just used a little smarts to get off before it completely stopped. No warning lights no warning at all.

Tl* the contact owns a 2017 Jeep Renegade. While the vehicle was stopped, the contact believed that the brake pedal was being depressed. The vehicle inadvertently lunged forward and rear ended another vehicle. The contact mentioned that the vehicle inadvertently lunged forward a second time and rear ended the preceding vehicle. The contact was certain that the brake pedal was depressed during the second failure as well. There were no warning indicators illuminated. There were no injuries and a police report was not filed. Upon starting the vehicle, the contact noticed that the speedometer changed from MPH to kph. The vehicle was not taken to an independent mechanic or dealer for diagnostic testing. The contact believed that her vehicle was being hacked. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was approximately 4,700.
I was turning into my parking space slowly with the brake slightly depressed. As I pressed further on the brake the car accelerated suddenly. I pressed down hard on the brakes and the car didn't slow down and smacked the retaining wall. The dashboard lit up with the parking brake (did not press) and the car with the lightning bolts. I don't know what just happened.
After filling gas tank, I tried to start car and it took a couple of tries to get it to crank over. Once it started, the car was making an intense knocking noise and sputtering so violently it actually caused the whole car to rock. After a few minutes it settled down and I pulled onto the street and the car just died... No light indicators at all and the instrument panel looked as if the car was turned off. Again it took a couple of tries, but the car finally started and began knocking and sputtering about, then settled down. I entered the freeway onramp and noticed when I let my foot off the accelerator, the car would essentially die while going 60 miles an hour. I got off the freeway and by the time I stopped on the offramp, the car had died again. I had to put on my hazard lights for about 3 minutes until the car started again. …
