Twice it's happened my turned. I went to turn my my key to power to open the doors and the heater went off. The horn started blaring. The windshield wipers came on. They was squirting out windshield fluid and I wasn't even in the car yet I couldn't get it to shut off so I got under. I took a fuse out. It turned off and now my car doesn't run. The first address is my home address at [redacted], and the second one was at the [redacted]. [redacted]
The contact owns a 2008 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated while at a standstill, the horn and windshield wipers would activate independently. The vehicle was not taken to a local dealer. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and told the contact to call NHTSA to file a complaint. The failure mileage was unavailable. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE'S BATTERY WAS DISCONNECTED IN ORDER TO PREVENT THE FAILURE FROM RECURRING.
On 11/22/2017 I parked 5 spaces from the front door of meijer on e.michigan ave in jackson, mi. As my esa animal remained in the vehicle I left the car running and heat on low. I was in the store about 3 minutes. By the time I returned to the vehicle I was informed by a bystander my vehicle was on fire and help was on the way. I asked about my dog and was told no one had seen him. I frantically searched the car for (nagini) my dog causing 3rd degree burns on my hands.I was able to retrieve him from the Jeep. He was unconscious and unresponsive. I began cpr and he was resuscitated. But sadly nagini died from his injuries 2 days later.
This cars TIPM system is extremely faulty I've had it fixed 3 already and it still acts as of it is possessed. This happened on the freeway where the car started going off by it's self stalled and couldn't do anything about it. I almost died. There has been many complaints about this vehicles TIPM system but Jeep refuses to recall them. Also the airbags do not deploy. This is a huge safety issue
I was driving on a main highway and all lights started to flash. All needles started to jump around and then everything went black and car died including no flashers. Battery was replaced a month before with yearly inspection the month before as well.
Purchased vehicle used in 2013 11/17/2015 1. Engine continues to run when key is removed from ignition switch. While parked. First noticed last week 11/08/2015 (only as long as the preset time on the radio shut off or the door is opened) 2. With cruise control set and going up hill, transmission down shifts to maintain speed. While trying to keep speed up and then break applied, excessive force is required to dis-engage cruise control. While driving at normal speeds. For as long as I can remember. (break switch has been changed twice) 3. While filling fuel tank at gas station, paying close attention to the pump, fuel will pour out from the filler neck after the pump has shut off. For as long as I can remember. (many occasions) 4. Check engine light continuously on. Possible damage to hoses on emissions canister in left rear wheel well due to gas spillage? (as long as I can remember) 5. …
I am the original owner of my 08 Liberty. I have been using the dealership for all maintenance. I've had issues with my skyslider roof in the past which, after 5 years of haggling, has been fixed. The problem I am haveing now is with a dying battery. Replaced the battery only to find out that the battery was still good. New battery doesn't last overnight. Found that there could be 3 issues causing it. Radio, fuel pump or TIPM. Cd player began to constantly eject a cd when no cd was present, so I pulled the radio fuse to stop the drain on the battery. No good! Next day, dead battery. Listened to any sound that the fuel pump was running while engine was off. Did not appear to be running. Checked with the Jeep forum, wow was I shocked! Libertys have nothing but electrical problems with the TIPM. …
Bought the vehicle in va on 2/19/18, driving home to me and after 50 miles in rain the horn started going off every time the wipers moved. Pushed the horn button and the washer fluid started squirting out. Was able to pull over and had to shut the Jeep off then was able to continue. Stopped in ct for gas and got back on the interstate and the all lights turned off on the outside but all the dash warning lights turned on, wipers turned on, horn turned on, washer fluid sprayer went continuously and the motor would stop and start on its own, while moving! Luckily, made it to the side of the road and turned the ignition off but all electrical components continued to go off randomly then the car would not restart. After turning the key on and off multiple times, moving the shifting lever, pulling fuses from the panel under the hood and putting them back in it started running again. …

My roof sky slider has been disconnected from the track that it connects to and will not stay on the roof without manual intervention. I currently have the roof taped down so it does not fly off while driving. With the slider being disconnected, it has caused many leaks to allow water into the inside of the vehicle, damaging the roof, floorboards, and has gotten into some of the electrical areas such as overhead lights above front dash. Initial disconnect happened while driving and skyslider was closed. It started to open up in the front right corner from wind pressure and without pushing the button to open it. Upon further investigation, it has been determined that the pins that keep the slider in place disconnected and will not connect back together. …
