A rock hit the windshield of my new 2022 Palisade while driving on the highway and caused a small chip on the driver's side about 1/4 of the way up from the bottom. I contacted the dealership right away because when I purchased my vehicle I was told they would repair chips at no charge. When I was making the appointment to get it repaired, the technician stated that the Palisade windshields are very fragile and sometimes when chips are being repaired the entire windshield will crack. However, if I did not get the chip repaired my windshield would crack anyway. I had the chip repaired and within 24 hours my windshield cracked down the middle from the top to 1/2 down the windshield - nowhere near the chip. Then within 2 days the crack turned and went all the way to the edge of the windshield on the passenger's side. …
I had the driver-side wiper replaced in November 2023 due to a recall and have had an issue 3x since then. Twice, snow had accumulated under the wiper arm while driving and caused the wiper motor to stop. That is the exact reason for the recall but it continues to happen regardless. Then the other night while driving 70 on a freeway in heavy rain with wipers on full speed, the driver wiper started hitting the left edge of the windshield a few swipes, slowed down for a few swipes, then stopped completely in the lower position. Had to get off at the next exit as all attempts wouldn't get them working again. Two days later I was able to get into the dealership for a quick "tightening of the bolt" to get the wipers functioning again. …
2022 Palisade, Less than 3000 miles and this happens. The dealer said "sorry, but it's road hazard" I've owned other vehicles and have driven in interstates with plenty of trucks with things hitting my windshield (previous cars) and I have never in my life seen a windshield crack so easily. The most infuriating part is that the road was clear, there is no way a rock could have hit my car, I wasn't driving through any underpass nothing to have caused it, where I could have been like fml Debris from a truck. I love my palisade but I was not surprised when I did some research and saw that they are having issues with the 2020 and 2021 windshields cracking easily and have a lawsuit for "fragile windshield" I have filed a complaint and opened a case with Hyundai! I talked to Safelite and an Autobody shop and was told that a windshield should not have cracked so easily. …
Two days ago, my husband took our vehicle to the car wash. At the other end of the car wash, it was discovered that the closed panoramic sunroof was completely destroyed during the process. Shards of glass were everywhere. We have contacted Hyundai and they have told my husband there is no class action suit about this problem. Even though it is under warranty, as it is a 2022, they refuse to take responsibility to take care of the damages. I have found through my research, that this was a class action lawsuit, which was closed in 2017, but continues to be a very bad problem for not only Hyundai but many other vehicles using a particular type of glass. we are now unable to get the parts to repair it, as the glass company cannot get a part from Hyundai, and Hyundai refuses to comply comply.
My wife and I were driving on I-81 south of Front Royal, Virginia on 10 October 2023 when our sunroof shattered. Temperatures were mild at the time and we were traveling at normal highway speeds. Nothing impacted the vehicle and there was no warning before the sunroof broke. This is the second time this has happened in this vehicle, the first time having been repaired under warranty by a local dealer. This time we were fortunate to have the sunshade closed so no glass got in the vehicle and we were not injured unlike last time. My wife held the sunshade closed and we managed to pull over safely. We found a car wash and vacuumed as much of the glass as we could and jury rigged a cover out of cardboard and duct tape so we could proceed on our trip. We are now contacting an attorney.
