Takata recall : my 2008 Honda Fit was traveling at 15 MPH and went into a police k-9 unit 'elvis'. The air bag virulently exploded on my jaw and caused my teeth to bit my tongue. The policeman mistook the injury for a seizure and I lost my license indefinitely. I was take to the hospital against my will and given 10,000 dollars in services I didn't want or need due to the air bag. Honda and Takata and NHTSA need to come clean and protect the public from this dangerous defect.
Takata recall- airbag exploded with excessive force resulting in tramatic brain injury subdural hematoma surgery seizures and permanent brain cognitive memory organization and executive function issues. Car in motion crossing intersection after light turned green at low speed hit by vehicle failing to yield making left hand turn into Honda Fit.
Takata inflator. The car was involved in a single-car, front end collision. The driver-side airbag deployed but did not inflate. Honda currently has a recall only for the passenger side and is not agreeing to repair/replace the defective driver side bag.
Lost control of steering and veered into light post. The post was impacted at approximately 30 MPH. The air bag did not deploy. There was smoke and gun powder smell. The car was a total loss. The airbag obviously fired, but did not deploy.
I own a 2008 Honda Fit. On 1-7-2010, while traveling at approximately 45 -50 MPH, the vehicle in front of mine began to brake. My brakes were applied; however, the vehicle did not seem to be slowing. The brakes were then depressed all the way to the floor, however, the vehicle continued forward until it crashed into the vehicle in front of mine. The ABS did not engage during this incident. The air bag did not deploy. The seat belt broke. The insurance company was informed of the above noted failures. The vehicle was repaired, however, no brake problems were detected. In late February, 2010, I got my vehicle back from the repair shop. On 3-4-2010, I was traveling at approximately 45 MPH when a vehicle pulled out in front of me causing me to slam the brakes as hard as I could. Again, the ABS system did not engage and my vehicle continued forward. …
My sister and I were sitting in stopped traffic on a california freeway in her 2008 Honda Fit when we were rear ended by another driver at about 50 MPH. We both were wearing seatbelts. He struck us directly behind the passenger, and our vehicle then struck the car in front of us and the concrete median barrier to the left. He struck us with sufficient force that our car was a complete loss and we had to be removed from the vehicle with the jaws of life. None of the car's airbags deployed. Though I was wearing a seatbelt and shoulder harness, I struck the dash with my head and was knocked unconscious. The seatbelt did not restrain me. I have seen at least three other similar incidents online that involved a rear end collision with a Honda Fit. Please investigate this dangerous vehicle before someone is killed.
I was driving about 45 MPH on a highway. I hit the car in front of me from behind. The speed of my car at the moment of the accident was about 45 MPH as well. My front part was totally smashed, the both of the seat belts got pull out all the way and broke. The car in front of me also had completely smashed rear part of the car. My car was not drivable condition that was towed. The air bags never deployed. I do have neck, back and chest injury and my passenger has the same injury as mind plus knee injury by hitting his knee strongly on a dash. My car is 2008 Honda Fit, pretty brand new car. It is very scary that the air bags did not deploy.
I bought Honda Fit, 2008 model a month ago. The traffic stopped and we stopped, but the vehicle in the rear did not stop and smashed the Fit from the rear, my vehicle was in the middle, struck by a Jeep in the rear and was pushed against a pick up truck in the front. The Fit was a total loss with engine pushed back, and bumper and front end smashed. Both front air bag failed to deploy even when the vehicle was a total loss with front smashed in.
Tl* the contact owns a 2008 Honda Fit. The contact stated that during idle at a stop light he was rear ended by another vehicle driving 50 MPH; which caused him to rear end another vehicle. The vehicle sustained $9000.00 worth of damage and none of the air bags deployed. The vehicle has not been inspected to determine the cause of the failure. The current and failure mileages were 11400. Updated 10/06/09. Updated 10/06/09
