The contact owns a 2014 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that while driving at an undetermined speed, the fuel gauge was not registering the proper amount of fuel in the vehicle. The fuel warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the failure was due to the electrical system. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to another local dealer, Reliable Buick GMC (400 Automall Dr, Roseville, CA 95661) where it was diagnosed with an electrical and fuel system failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred her to NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The contact stated the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V223000 (Electrical System, Fuel System, Gasoline). The approximate failure mileage was 105,294.
My wife was driving at highway speeds (70MPH) on the interstate in Chicago when without warning her cluster lights appeared and her vehicle lost propulsion (stalled, Stall, died). She had no warning and the area had no shoulder for her to pull off into so she had to come to a complete stop in the right lane of the highway. People are doing speeds well above 70MPH, I would hate to think of what could have happened if a person or line of vehicles could not change lanes in time; very serious injuries and possibly death for all invovled. Fortunatly, she had the sense to put the car in park (highway lane) and completed a key cycle thus restarting the vehicle and then obviously accelerating quickly to get out of harms way. As people are swirving out of her lane and honking at her. I put our VIN into the NHTSA site and see the vehicle has no outstanding recalls. …
Fuel gauge is incorrect. It says I went 20 miles when I only went two. Then when car is in park the gauge goes back up but when moving the gauge goes down quickly. This had caused me to run out of Gas when I shouldn't have and it's adding miles to my odometer that I never went or it's fluctuating and that's faulty. fuel gage incorrect. parked at work with a third of a tank of gas, when i left work later that day it said i was on empty. got to closest gas station and put in $20. gauge told me I had half a tank but it takes $70 to fill the tank, so there is no way $20 would give that. then I drove about mile to my parents house and while sitting in the drive way the gauge now said I had over half a tank. then i drove 4 miles home and the range went from 162 miles to 134. called dealer regarding the recall bulletin 14007b and was told my car wasnt part of it even though it is a 2014 gmc acadia and is having the issues described in the bulletin.
Gas gauge does not read accurately. We have ran out of gas one time due to this issue, resulting with us stalling in the middle of a busy street. Now that that has occurred gas is put into the tank every few days but gas gauge still only registers 1/4 of tank to "Low Range". MULTIPLE OCCASIONS!
Gas gauge is incorrect. When I put fuel in the tank within min gauge drops to empty. Car sputters when idling. Car stalled 10x or more. Fuel pump has been replaced. Fuel pump module has been replaced. Did not fix the problem.
I have many problems with this vehicle, numerous times. Inaccurate Fuel Gauge Reading- It has resulted in my vehicle running out of fuel and stalling, while on road. I have 4 children who are at risk of danger while in vehicle.The fuel warning light has illuminated when the gauge needle says I still have more than plenty of amount (a quarter of a tank or more at times. It differs). It was diagnosed with an electrical and fuel system failure. Electrical shorts and problems- Having electrical shorts on and off. Check engine light comes on/off Vehicle randomly failed to start. My vehicle was difficult to start and would require several attempts before starting. Power lock/unlock key fob doesn't work, replaced battery multiple times.windows and sunroof power windows do no work. Radio and dash turn off and restart. Check airbag light has been coming on and off. …
Bought car brand new 8-14. Since I have taken into dealership over 5 times regarding it stalling, and complete shut down while driving. First car would shut off when in reverse. Car turned off completely multiple times sitting at red lights. Then while I was driving 35 miles on residential street I had complete failure, car turned off. Was able to restart and drive. Car takes a couple seconds to turn over when first putting key in. Noticed recall in 10-14 for exact issue but GMC dealer in concord ca says my car is not included in it. Interior lights go on at random along with headlights. Gas gauge in "miles" reading on dash lowers by 20+ miles each time I drop kids off at school 5 miles away. Each time I have taken it to dealer, dealer stated they are unable to duplicate the events, no warning codes are showing and they can not find what's wrong with the car. Shocker. …
Started noticing the gas gauge wasn't accurate. I started out with 1/4 tank of gas and drove not even a mile and the low fuel light came on and the needle was on empty. Panicked and drove to the nearest gas station and I pulled up to the pump and my gas reappeared. Another time I filled the tank and drove approximately 5 miles and it went from full to 3/4 of a tank. Went in the store, came out and started it and it was full again. This has happened several times and once resulting in running out of gas although it showed there was gas. I now reset the mileage to zero when I fill up and know how many miles I should get to the tank and refuel. I spoke to the service advisor at my dealership and he told me it was a new fuel system GM was using and there wasn't a resolution for it. There has to be a resolution to this!
