Water has been pouring in the interior of the vehicle. It started in the rear overhead lights, dvd player and has progressed to the front of the interior, soaking the dash board and causing the electrical system to malfunction. So much as killing the battery, the rear door opening on its own, the heat not responding to the front . I spoke to technicians in salisbury where I bought the car, a GMC dealership. He has stated my warranty had run out, never stating this was a common problem with the Acadia. I thought it was a seal problem and set out to order one from the same dealership and was advised it that time, it was probably the drain hoses, od course the problem was not identified as being common with this vehicle. …
Recall on my GMC 2007 Acadia for leaking sunroof. Recall work done on 09/24/08. Replaced "faulty drain tubes" recall #08207. A few months later, on 04/03/09, my car was leaking water onto the dashboard, from the dome lights, window airbag. The water was pooled in my dome lights (8 total lights). Took truck in to be repaired that day. They could not get to it for 3 days, work was done on 04/06/09. I was told the procedures they had to perform the recall back in sept. Were incorrect, therefore causing the problem/leaking. I was also told that I was not the only one this happened to. I was not notified of the "recall on the recall" and as a result, my sunroof leaked and filled my truck with water and who knows what type of damage will result because of it. Electrical? Will my airbag work? Mold? I was told there will be no damage as a result but how can that be guaranteed?
I have owned this car for about a year and since I have owned it have had nothing but problems. First the struts were blown, the dash lights would go from bright to dim, the steering wheel made a clicking noise, the windows leak...this car only has 41,000 miles I mean come on! Now the transmission has completely failed and after reading other websites it sounds like I will be paying $4,000 dollars. I am a new mom and have 3 step kids. I can't feel safe in my car because I'm worried about it breaking down constantly. Now I have to dump all this money that I don't have into it. I really just want to cut my losses, but is that really the best thing to do? I'm stuck with this junker car and I couldn't feel more sorry for all these other people having the same issues. I'm absolutely miserable. Thanks GMC you suck.
