What owners report
I leased a 2026 Electric GV70 from Genesis in June 2025. In January of 2026, when driving the car I got a warning sign to stop the vehicle and check the battery supply. At that point, the car went into sever power reduction and would only go 20 MPH or so. After 20-30 minutes, the car completely shut down and became inoperable. Luckily, I was near home and was able to get my car home. I had to have the vehicle towed on wheels as it was completely frozen to the dealership. They diagnosed it as a failure of the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU). They replaced the ICCU but identified other issues that to this day are unresolved and my car is still in the shop. These cars were subject to a recall for ICCU failure but only to model year 2025. These ICCUs are continuing to fail on the 2026 models, and at an alarming rate. …
While driving on the highway, the car shut down with no warning messages and gas fumes filled the interior of the car. I was not able to move over to a completely safe spot on the road because the car shut down so quickly. I was not able to put the windows down as there was no power to the car and unable to exit the car because I was not in a safe spot on the highway. I had to remain in the closed car inhaling the gas fumes. I called 911 and they had me sit in the sheriffs car until a tow truck came to keep me out of the fumes. The car was towed to the dealership, it had 53 miles on it. This event was extremely dangerous. It is currently at the service department of the dealership for repairs.
My vehicle failed while in motion. I lost power to the vehicle and power steering. Just before the car failed, I heard a pop and a warning light came on that said "Check Electric Vehicle System". The car's ICCU failed and caused failures of the battery and 12v battery. My safety and everyone on the road around me's safety was put at risk when I lost the ability to accelerate or use power steering. The car was towed to a dealer and the dealer confirmed the issue. The ICCU failure and failure of the vehicle while in motion is directly related to a previous safety recall (025G) for which repair work was done on my vehicle. The recall repair was ineffective as the very issue it was intended to resolve still happened to me in a 1 year old car with only 8,000 miles.
While driving and making a turn or stop and go the vehicle will not accelerate when peddle is pressed it will go about 20mph go into limp mode until you can get to a safe place to shut off engine and restart vehicle; The vehicle is at the Dealer now waiting on diagnostics report, No warning lights or code messages showing, Auto is Dangerous to my family and other drivers this happen approximately 4 times since I own this vehicle just purchased 8/4/2026 19000 miles Under manufacturer warranty
The contact owns a 2023 Genesis GV70. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled inadvertently. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer, where it was diagnosed that the high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP) had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred while driving 2 hours later. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 9,092.
Experienced acceleration problem with my brand new Genesis GV70, only 7 mos. old. I backed car out of garage and onto my street, put car in "drive" and pressed down on gas to move forward, but car would not accelerate. This was only for a split second, and then it started to accelerate. It was strange, though, and had never happened before. I continued on my route and as I was entering an onramp to get on freeway, car would not accelerate again. Car maintained 20mph speed but would not go any faster as I pushed down on the gas peddle. I was able to pull off to side of the ramp. I turned engine off and restarted car, tried to move forward again, but again would not accelerate. Turned car off again, restarted, and this time, I was able to accelerate. Very scary to think of this happening if I was already on freeway with cars going 70+mph. …
The contact owns a 2022 Genesis GV70. The contact stated that while his wife was attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle displayed signs of electrical power, but the vehicle failed to start as expected. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V282000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The VIN was included, but parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 19,000.
