On October 5, 2021 (Wednesday) I was driving my 2010 F-150 Lariat and noticed the brakes fading as I came to brake for red lights. I also noticed "BRAKE WARNING" lights & "BRAKE FLUID LEVEL LOW" light come on also. I pulled into a CVS store and looked under the hood to & saw the "Master Cylinder Brake Fluid RESERVOIR" nearly empty. I put 1 bottle of DOT 3 brake fluid in fluid container and saw level go back down, almost empty, upon turning truck on to pressurize the system. I didn't see any fluid leaking from under truck & bought another bottle of DOT3 Brake Fluid and again the reservoir emptied again. I got the vehicle home and the next day the same thing happened after a 3rd refill of the reservoir. AGAIN STILL NOT SEEING ANY FLUID LEAKS ON MY DRIVEWAY!!! …
Front Left Brake stuck while driving in 2011. Stopped at a stop light and it looked like it was on fire. Pulled to the left and would not get over 50 miles an hour all the way home. 40 mile distance. I took it to an ASE certified mechanic and was told the brake line had collapsed . Had motorcraft brake line and brake pads installed. Later 2012 the right side done the same thing, it was so bad the rotor had to be changed out. 2014 Left side it happened again, this time I bought NAPA Auto parts, break line, brake pads, caliper and rotor. 2015 it happened again on the right side again. I got parts from Rock Auto. Brake pads, rotor, break line and caliper.. 2020 Left side it happened again , same process as before same parts bought again installed . now 1/10/2022 here Iam having to do it again. …
Leaving my driveway today, the 2010 Ford F-150 suddenly indicated a brake fluid level low message and the brake warning indicator turned on. The brake pedal, which was firm about a minute before, suddenly depressed to floor and the truck was stopped only with great difficulty. The sudden change in braking performance would probably have caused an accident if I had been driving in traffic. I took the truck to a mechanic who refilled the master cylinder and bled the brakes. I left the mechanic and pulled out. The brakes were fine leaving the lot. About 1/4 mile later, the brake warning came on and the brakes became spongy. I immediately returned to the mechanic and was informed that the brake master cylinder was draining into the booster. Apparently this is a recall item on later F-150s but it does not appear to include the 2010.
I was in a parking lot and went to shift the truck out of park and noticed the brake system warning light on. After the vehicle was shifted into drive the brake pedal went to the floor and the only way to stop the vehicle was with the parking brake. The master cylinder was empty of any fluid. I had the vehicle towed to my home for inspection. After checking all brake lines for ruptures or leaks, I removed the master cylinder and discovered the brake booster full of brake fluid. I replaced the master cylinder and the vehicle returned to its normal braking function. The brake booster was also replaced due to the corrosive nature of the brake fluid. Luckily, I was parked and wasn't driving when the vehicle lost brake function because I wouldn't have been able to stop the vehicle at highway speed with the parking brake.
2010 FORD F150 ONLY OWNER - Brake Calipers and break line failed. Took it into Ford Dealership and they were unable to provide a diagnosis. Truck still shakes when in idle. All maintenance and needed care for the truck has been maintained. Repair cost over $4k to repair for 6 months in with the issue. Camera does not work and has not since 2014. Heated seats stopped working and burned out in 2014. All issues started to surface after truck was paid off.... Of course
While attempting to leave my driveway, I put my foot on the brake pedal in order to put the vehicle into gear. I heard a "pop" and the pedal went to the floor. There were no warning lights on the dash. The vehicle remains, (un-driven) in my driveway. I don't know what failed and the vehicle has not been inspected. I do notice fluid leaking under the vehicle but don't know where it's coming from.
My Ford f150 xlt was parted in my drive way, last driven at 9.00 am on 8/29/2014. The vehicle was engaged in park, steering wheel locked and key fully with drawn. At around 5.00 pm vehicle took off itself with out driver went down the street and hit another parked vehicle causing big damages to that vehicle and as well to Ford 150 that I own. I have several evidence of people around my street watching this happening. My purpose of this complain is: 1. To find out whether there is recall on this vehicle, and Ford hasn't informed the customers 2. The dealership san leandro Ford in ca 94577 didn't respond my compliant- my request was to find if there is recall on the vehicle. 3. My big concern is for public safety, whether this vehicle has factory and has tendency take off when fully parked and disengaged. …
There have been 3 times now that my vehicle has randomly died while driving on the highway and city streets. With the engine not running I lost power steering and almost couldn't make a turn. No warning lights, no chimes. Looking into it myself I found that the fuel relay 20amp fuse was melted and the plastic around the terminal also melted. Ford has a TSB out for this issue but I feel it should be recalled for safety purposes as there is no warning and you lose all power. Little to no steering or brakes until you come to a stop and pop the hood open and wiggle that fuse in hopes that it will make contact again. This means that you could be left stranded or get into an accident trying to stop. Many people in online forums have had this same issue and it needs to be addressed accordingly.
