I purchased a used 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 and noticed that my suspension on my truck is not right. I experience jerking upon braking. It sounds like metal upon metal while I am driving. It is extremely loud also. Under my foot while I am driving I can feel the grinding noise and often it feels very hot.
The Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 try k needs to be recalled due to bade fram rust and bad body rust and for the bad dash that Dodge put in them but let's first. Talk about a safety recall for the bad farms that was used I want my truck fixed and Dodge should be made to do so
I own a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500, 2 wheel drive. As I looked through your site I found a recall on the suspension of the right control arm. About 1 year ago the truck the truck needed tie rod ends according to the dealership. A loud squeaking was to be fixed by the tie rod ends. Once in the shop I received a call saying that the right control arm had a bad bushing and to replace the rubber bushing I needed to replace the whole control arm. No one person could tell me why. According to your recall, my bad tie rod ends, shocks, and control arm are a result of a bad axle. The dealership claims this all happened from the control going bad. The truck had only 100,000 miles at the time, this cost me 1,500.00. The truck is now starting to have the same noises as a year ago. Could this be the recurring problem, should I just keep replacing the right side control arm. …
Noticed reduced directional stability, braking degradation and vehicle pulled under braking conditions. This lead me to take vehicle in for service. While on the vehicle rack it was discovered that both lower control arms had cracked in the exact same location on both sides. Additionally, cracks were discovered due to what appeared to be poor welds on the front axle. On 01-16-2006, I authorized the following work to be done at my own expense: 1) replacement of cracked lower control arms and welding of the cracked front axle recall 00V007000). Replacement control arms were reinforced in the area that failed on both stock OEM control arms. The replacement arms where almost twice as heavy as the originals. With this information, I contacted Dodge daimler/Chrysler to explain the situation and requested a reimbursement for the parts replaced. …
I have two issues to relay. I have a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab truck. I currently have approximately 54,000 miles on it. I just recently had to have the driver side front wheel bearing assembly replaced. This wa sa known defect was told, and was specifically excluded from my extended warranty (go figure). This cost me almost $ 500.00. Per the mechanic, there was a plastic retainer device that broke and allowed the nut to back off, and this destroyed the wheel bearing assembly. I was told that my wheel was in danger of falling off. Second, my truck started making clunking noises when I turned or went over bumps. A local mechanic inspected my truck and told be my ball joints were defective. They have seen this a lot. I have done some research and believe the suspension on my truck was the same as the durango. Now they were subject to a recall. Sincerely, norman l'heureux.
Uncontrollable wheel shake (death wobble), until you come to complete stop which the violent shaking in turn affects how I brake. Chrysler revised the steering set up and kept it a secret until you made a complaint even then they just say you need to replace all steering components mean while what they install is nothing like what was there. Chrysler should be responsible for poor engineering- this can hurt someone one day and would rather see it not. Violent wheel shake I mean violent. If a product is designed wrong and manufacture creates a fix for so called design flaw then there should be a recall. While traveling at highway speed of 55 MPH passenger's rear wheel with every thing, except the dust pan from the axle came off the vehicle. No injury reported. Consumer asked dealer what made the wheel com eoff. Delaer's reply was that nothing was wrong with the brakes. Prior to the recall (00v-007) the wheel broke off from the axle and the vehicle went out of control resulting in accident.
The "check gauges" indicator alerted and the oil pressure went to zero. The vehcile sputtered and the engine stopped. I found out from my mechanic that the engine had siezed and would cost $5000.00 to repair.I have already had two transmissions replaced at a cost of 3,300.00 and cannot put anymore into this defective vehicle. 2000 dodge1500 Ram 4x4.
