In the past 3 years I have had my transmission go out on my vehicle 3 times. All 3 times I was driving when it happened and my car just stopped shifting or would not shift past 2nd gear. I have spoken to numerous mechanics about this issue, and every single one has told me that is a know issue with my specific type of dodge. It is an extreme safety issue to be getting on the freeway and have your transmission suddenly stop working. It is also ridiculous that consumers should have to come out of pocket 5K every 20,000 miles or so to fix or replace a defective transmission that dodge refuses to deal with. I contacted Dodge customer service to try and get my transmission fixed and was told that since they have not recalled it, they will not help me cover the cost. What I don't understand is why they have not issued a recall. …
The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Journey. The contact stated initially noticed that power steering fluid was leaking onto his driveway. The contact also stated that while driving at slower speeds, extra effort was needed to steer the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. Upon investigation, the contact linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V273000 (Steering) however, the Vin was not included. Additionally, he also stated that while his wife was at stop light, the vehicle shut-off while accelerating. The contact stated that his wife was unaware if any warning light was illuminated on the instrument panel. She was able to immediately restart the vehicle and resume normal driving. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
My 2013 Dodge Journey is just one of thousands of Dodge/Chrysler/GM vehicles to have transmission failures with this type of engine (3.6L V6) and transmission (62TE). These transmission units are exorbitantly expensive and fail time and again paired with these engines on vehicles such as CARAVAN, TOWN & COUNTRY, 200, AVENGER, JOURNEY. This was a serious misstep and miscalculation by these companies, and they are costing their customers thousands upon thousands of dollars. Dodge and Chrysler (now Stellantis) should be held accountable, especially since they are now a conglomerate of the most consistently unreliable vehicles (Dodge, Jeep, Chrysler, Ram, Fiat).
our 2013 dodge journey has been fixed three times off for the driveshaft. The mechanic shop keeps stating that the bolts are falling out and they have no reason to give us. We have to purchase the boats from that dealership in the cost a good amount of money, and we've only had the car for about four years
My spark plugs were causing issue I had them replaced 6 months later my car starts throwing the same code they just keep resetting it saying nothing is wrong. Lately after my last oil change my coolant isn't propelling through the engine properly and my car will under heat when traveling hills
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 Dodge Journey. While driving 25 MPH, the vehicle jerked violently. The contact lost control of the steering wheel and crashed into a concrete barrier. There were no injuries and a police report was not filed. The instrument panel lights illuminated. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the failure could not be found. The vehicle was not repaired and the failure continued. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000. Updated 10/18/16 the consumer stated she experienced a tire blow out, and the alternator and battery needed to be replaced. Updated 10/25/16.
Dodge Journey burst into flames after being repaired after a factory recall, driver had to pull over to the side of the highway stop and exit the vehicle until smoke subsided and fire was extinguished.
My vehicle has undergone repeated repair attempts, for a defect and nonconformity with defective transmission, transmission clunk, defective A/C, defective door locks, defective window regulator, and radio failure. These nonconformities substantially impair the use, value and safety of the subject vehicle. The transmission has shifting issues to the point of having to force it into reverse, especially if parked on an incline. The defective A/C and radio seem to be contained in the all-in-one unit in which the radio goes out and A/C will turn on at random and not turn off. The unit has been completely replaced once, only for the problem to continue. The defective door locks and window regulator was a result of wiring issue BCM and door latch assembly. I have filed a lemon law suit against Chrysler and bill luke, only to be declined as they state it was all within warranty. …
I have owned my Dodge Journey since May 2013, and after two years I began to have problems. The vehicle does not pick up and go. At times when the vehicle is in idling mode (like if I am sitting at a traffic light) it acts as if it wants to stop. On other occasions the vehicle acts as if it wants to stop, even if I am in drive or just sitting in park. I recently had a tune and the battery replaced. I am still having the same problem! However, it's even worse now because the vehicle constantly shakes and wants to stop while I am caught up in traffic, which is very dangerous (especially when I have my children and dogs in the vehicle with me). I want this issue resolved. …
Something has gone very wrong in my transmission. Possibly tork converter or a pump causing 2 error codes and a huge winding noise upon starting the vehicle. The error codes are p083b for the tfps and p0944 hydraulic pressure unit. My car is 2013 and was purchased on April 7th with 44,011 miles on it. I have since put 14000 miles on it with the needed and proper oil changes every 5000 miles. I was driving and started hearing a high pitched winding noise. I started to head to someplace I would be able to park and stopped at a red light. Once it turned green I proceeded to press on thr gas and the car didnt move rather slid backward almost hitting the car behind me. I had my 3 year old in the car properly restrained in the correct car seat but it was scary. I then had it towed to a transmission shop and got a diagnosis of needing to rebuild my transmission. …
