The contact owns a 2016 Dodge Dart. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V813000 (Visibility). The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 MPH in inclement weather, the windshield wipers became inoperable. The contact observed an active recall via the internet and then took the vehicle to a dealer and was advised that the vehicle could not be repaired due to parts not being available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 142,000.
I have had so many problems with this vehicle. I have had to replace two coils, had the air conditioner fixed, had to replace my rear shocks, which caused me to have to buy two new rear tires, the windshield wiper motor was replaced, my car was burning oil until I got a recall for that. Now my blower fan for the heater is not working, I only have 66000, miles on this car. All these issues could really cause dangerous problems. When my 1st coil went out I couldn't get my car restarted in the middle of town. When the 2nd coil went out my car would barely move and this happened before I got the recall for the engine oil problem. Now I will have to repair the blower fan because the defroster and heat aren't working.
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 Dodge Dart. While turning the vehicle left or right, the windshield wipers activated on their own. The windshield wipers would currently activate continuously without increasing speed. The contact stated that the wipers did not move fast enough to see the road clearly during heavy rain. Also, the wipers would not dispense any wiper fluid. Northwest Jeep Chrysler Dodge Ram (0600 sw canyon rd, beaverton, or 97005, [phone]) was contacted and stated that there were no recalls. The manufacturer stated the same and referred the contact to NHTSA. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 67,870.
I was trying to use the windshield washer while driving home and the wipers turned on but no fluid came out. I assumed I was out of fluid and tried to turn the wipers off to find they stayed on while when I put them in the off position. I tried to change the speed of the wipers and they just stayed in the normal on speed no matter what setting I set them at including off. So for the next 40 miles I drove into the sun on a 90 degree day with the wipers on. There were no warning lights or anything. I took it to the repair shop and they assessed that it was the wiper functions on the multifunction switch malfunctioned, even though the turn signal and headlight functions remained intact, and the switch needed to be replaced, a part that costs $497.66. …
The windshield wipers do not turn off no matter what . Nothing was wrong with them before . It started all a sudden when I would signal. Then then they stayed on. I have read many others Dodge Dart owners have the same issue. . I have seen there is a recall for the 2016 but not the 2013 that has the same issues.
The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Dart. The contact stated that the front windshield trim was missing and that the adhesive around the front windshield was cracking. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 97,945.
Wipers have turned and will not shut off while the car is running and am unable to change the speed of the wipers. It started with them turning on when the left blinker was activated, but they would shut off when the blinker did. They are now turning on every time the car is started and will not shut off until the car is turned off. They washer sprayer does not work anymore either. This is very distracting when trying to drive under normal conditions because the wipers keep moving in front of you and they screech horribly since the windshield is dry and the washer fluid no longer works. This is also very dangerous when driving in the rain because you can not change the speed of the wipers to keep up with the heaviness of the rain. I have found through many forums that this is a very common problem with this vehicle make and model.
