This vehicle was purchased used. 2 weeks after purchase the rear brake bads failed causing them to grind on the rotors. Brakes and rotors were replaced. Drivers side seat support is broken. Power steering pump has a leak. Transmission clutches burned out requiring replacement. Water pump failed along with failing timing belt & timing belt tensioner causing needed replacement. Engine has several oil leaks. Rack & pinion system is shifting, causing a thumping sound and vehicle shifting while cornering at times. Selt belt on drivers side doesn't retract properly. Brakes perform poorly, requiring excessive pedal to stop vehicle. Fuel rail is leaking fuel, awaiting mechanic determination if it's covered under the recall.
Tl contact owns a 1995 Chrysler LHS. While driving 25 MPH, strong gasoline fumes began to enter the passenger compartment. The contact took the vehicle to a dealer per NHTSA campaign id number 98V184000 (fuel system, gasoline:fuel injection system). The dealer stated that the failure occurred with the driver side fuel rail, therefore rendering the recall as null and void even though the parts and failure were identical. No repairs were made. The VIN and number of cylinders were unknown. The current and failure mileages were 175,000. Updated 01/02/08. Updated 12/12/07
Tl* the contact owns a 1995 Chrysler LHS. The contact stated that there was an overpowering odor of gasoline coming from the vehicle that was noticeable in the interior cabin. After examining the vehicle, the contact discovered that the fuel rail was fractured. The vehicle was repaired by the contact and was not diagnosed by the dealer. Prior to the failure, the vehicle was serviced under NHTSA campaign id number: 98V184000 (fuel system, gasoline:fuel injection system). The current and failure mileage was 235,000.
Dt*: the contact stated in January 1999, a recall letter was received for the fuel injection system, NHTSA #98V184000. The vehicle was taken to the dealership and the recall work was performed. In February 2004, fuel began to leak from the engine compartment. The vehicle was taken to the dealership and the o-rings were replaced. The manufacturer was contacted for reimbursement, but because the failure occurred after the one year warranty, the claim was denied.
1995 Chrysler LHS fuel rail leak, gasoline pouring onto engine manifold (2nd owner of car) was repaired 8yrs ago for same issue at my own cost unaware of recall of fuel rail problem when purchased vehicle . Dealer refuses to correct problem ..it has a recall for the fuel rail leaking and or o- rings failure for year and VIN of vehicle they state it was done in 1999.
Constant fuel vapor fumes of raw gas coming into the vehicle, recall campaign 98V184000 was done to the vehicle as the reinforcements are present, fumes occur daily with presence of fuel coming out of reinforcement area outlet fuel rail was not replaced. Believe Chrysler needs to replace the outlet fuel rail as per recall as reinforcements do not hold up.
1995 Chrysler LHS fuel o-ring and fuel rail problem fixed by dealer under a national recall. Same issue has resurfaced with the fuel o-ring and fuel rail. Dealer has indicated it will not be fixed now under the recall.. Vehicle is a fire and explosion hazard and should be fixed under the recall.
The car keeps on dying when I'm driving and when the car dies I lose my brakes and my power steering my mechanic told me it is a problem with my fuel rails and I have noticed it leaking gasoline once in awhile.
Power steering rack being replaced again - 4th time; power steering pump being replaced again - 5th time; right strut assembly replaced twice; transmission leakag; tranmission replaced; right tie rod replaced; right stabilizer link replaced; replace ending serpentine drive belt; repair gas tank leak; repair ac connector & wires; replaced ac compressor; replaced water pump; replaced timing belt - both the dealer and Chrysler have been contacted on many occasions - currently vehicle is at dealer again to replace power steering pump and rack; however claim that parts are on national back order - vehicle has been at dealer for almost 2 weeks - this vehicle is very defective and appears to be unrepairable - one more than one occasion I was driving this auto when power steering went and rack split - should I be expected to ever behind the wheel of this vehicle again??
